I joined Instagram and cultivated a very modest following under the pretext of Photography, and a shared appreciation of images. Everything negative that can be said about the platform has probably already been said, so I won’t bother repeating it. But instead of focusing on the NOW and the present and the cultivated visual flexes of our every day existence, I’ve decided to make a bit of a pivot, and start sharing Photography for the sake of photography. So I spent the weekend rummaging through the archives and pulled a few dozen pictures that have not seen the light of day that want to find an appreciative audience. So, if you don’t like images that are composed, considered, and created solely for the joyful process of creation, then this is probably not the feed for you. 👋 If however, you’re open to seeing some of the unseen and enjoying how I have seen and captured the world, then stay along for the ride because I can promise there’s some fun stuff coming. 📷 To get things started — this first picture is of me sporting a blistering hangover, on the roof of our dear friends’ fort in Maheshwar India, wearing quite possibly the greatest silk robe ever spun. I needed coffee and a shave, and I was able to get both from a local gentleman captured in the second picture. All images, unless otherwise noted captured with my @leica_camera M rangefinder.

The neighborhood my gps was squelching at me to rapidly depart was one part crime scene, one part movie set. Impervious to gentrification.

I happened up something that I imagine would have shuttled Weegee around, in what I surmised to be a 1942 Buick Eight sedan. (Correct me in the comments).

As I was framing the shot (Leica M240 / 50mm) there was a break in the clouds that gave way to temporary, but punishing high angle southwest light that fell perfectly on this off-axis street; lighting its antediluvian fascia.

It’s one I will likely return to. Thank you for your attention to this matter. by @scottwitt
