So I've been wanting to make this little video of this song since before @raulmalo01 passed away. I wanted him to hear it. But every time I tried, I couldn't get through it without choking up. Then I would chuckle a little hearing Raul's voice in my head calling me a p*$$y or something.

There are countless instances where Raul's musical prowess would impress me beyond measure. But standing off stage at the Royal Albert Hall back in the 90s, listening to him sing "Dream River" and other songs acoustically, witnessing him capture the crowd with every breath, I knew I was experiencing something very special.

And as @the_mavericks continue on their journey without him, there will always be a little empty spot on the stage. But I am so grateful the band decided to continue on, celebrating his music and more, just like he wanted us to. I'm honored to be part of it. Miss ya pal. by @scottyhuff

What a thrill it is to be back making music with my brothers and sisters of @the_mavericks. Wasn't sure this would happen. And thanks to @sympsonmedia for the killer photography this last weekend at one of our favorite venues, @knuckleheadskc !!! I generally don't like pics of me, but I thought this was pretty cool. I call it "Scotty Keeping His Chins Up" 😉 taken in Knuckleheads Kansas City by @scottyhuff

And we're back!! I am over the moon (and stars 😉) about this. Four months ago I would not have believed this to be possible. The profound loss of our brother and maestro Raul had all the ear marks of being the end of an era. But we all believe this music must live on, especially through live performance. I can't think of a better way to honor him, Paul, Jerry Dale, Eddie, the rest of @the_mavericks family, and of course the fans than by continuing to make great music and deliver one of the best live shows you'll ever see. And I am so exited to share the stage with the amazing talents of @emilywestofficial and @jamesotto !!

As they say, "The show must go on!" I hope to see you at one of them. by @scottyhuff
