✨ CAFE SPOTLIGHT — SCOUT COFFEE ✨ Today we’re spotlighting our friends and longtime partners at @scoutcoffee — a Central Coast favorite and a brand we’ve admired for years. Sara and Jon opened their first café on Garden Street in SLO in 2014 after nearly a decade of saving and planning. That small space quickly became a community hub and a favorite stop for anyone driving through. Since then, Scout has continued to grow: 2015 — roastery 2016 — Foothill café 2021 — Cal Poly 2023 — Morro Bay HQ What started with a tiny oven in the back has become a full bakery operation, now based in their Morro Bay commissary and supporting all of their cafés. One of their biggest moves was renovating an 8,400 sq ft former Bank of America building in downtown Morro Bay — now home to their roastery, bakery, and newest café. A huge milestone for the team. Some of the things we love about Scout: • The genuinely warm staff • Their thoughtful design and aesthetic • The baked goods (especially the cookies) • And the coffee — the cappuccino is always spot-on ☕️✨ Scout is still fully family-owned, now with a team of around 90. Jon leads operations, and Sara guides the creative direction while raising and homeschooling their four kids. We’re grateful to work with people who care deeply about what they do — their craft, their spaces, and their community. Here’s to Scout, and to all the small businesses built with intention and heart. 💛 #createdco #scoutcoffee #cafespotlight #SLO #smallbizsaturday #shopsmall #cafe #coffeeshop #bakery #roastery taken in Scout Coffee Co. by @scoutcoffee

Wow. Wow. Wow. My heart is full after a day at our original Scout on Garden St. The vibes were high ✨the coffee was on point, and the pastries were flying! I had a chance to hug 🤗 long time customers, and to meet new ones, and as per usual my day may have ended with a little banter between parking services and myself… ANYWAYS, the best moment of today was when our Manager Skyler handed me a hand written note from a regular that was just so sweet- it literally made me tear up because you guys…”it’s about the coffee, it’s not about the coffee!!!” It’s so much more, and it matters! The greetings, the teamwork, the care and craft of our products, the intention of the space, all of it together matters and it makes us better, and our community better (Gary said so!) and I’m just so proud of our team for practicing authentic HOSPITALITY! It makes the world go round. And how about a shout out to Gary, he didn’t need to pass this on- but taking a moment to appreciate what you see in someone else- that is LIFE-GIVING! ⭐️thanks for the encouragement and thank you Scoutie crew downtown. I am a proud coffee mama! Now go write someone a note why don’t ya?! 📝 by @scoutcoffee

“Caps for sale, caps for sale, 50 cents a cap.” Gold ⭐️ star if you know this children’s book reference! 🤠Scout hats are online & in the shops! We had way too much fun designing hats with @tapachomfg and well, we went from no hats to at least 10 designs in no time, so good luck choosing! There’s chain stitching (be still my heart) camo, hemp, felt patches, embroidery, fun colors, and little surprise details. We’d be honored to top ‘yer head! Stay tuned for more hat giveaways! Love you!! 💛 by @scoutcoffee

The first annual SLO Big Day Out 🤘 I am by no means an event promoter, but with a bunch of help from the pros at @velocioapparel @sram.southwest.fieldguides @sramroad @iamspecialized @scoutcoffee and @bhgrehaven I’d say this first attempt went pretty stellar. I’ve been kicking around the idea of hosting a laid-back, but gnarly gravel event for a few years now, and finally got around to making it happen this year. 77 miles, 8000ft of gain, and plenty of under-biking all fueled by @scoutcoffee, @styrkr.uk , Fireball, Brats, and @fattire 🍻 The stoke was high, the suffering was plentiful, the vibes were all time, and the cherry on top was that we were able to raise a solid chunk of change 💵 to support @worldbicyclerelief. Huge thank you to everyone who came out to ride, hang, and heckle. The SLO bike community is so rad. That was a properly good time 🫡 I also want to give a huge thank you to @sydsit @jaannhaidet, and a bunch of my Srammie co-workers for hustling all day to keep things running smoothly and to @chaseincolor for following us all day and being an absolute machine behind the 📸 🙌 Keep an eye out for deets on next year’s edition 😏 taken in SLO by @scoutcoffee

In good company. We recently teamed up with the crew at @scoutcoffee to stitch up something special, a custom unstructured 5-panel in corduroy, finished with a machine chain-stitched crown. Always proud to work with brands that keep it moving forward, one cup (and one cap) at a time. @tapachomfg | Custom Headwear. Made Easy. A red corduroy unstructured 5-panel hat with yellow chain-stitched “Scout” logo on the crown, resting on top of stacked notebooks on a rustic wooden table in a cozy, well-lit shop. Blurred flowers in the foreground and a softly lit retail setting in the background. by @scoutcoffee
