September 30th marks National Day for Truth and Reconciliation and Orange Shirt Day – Every Child Matters 🧡

Today, we honour Survivors of residential and day schools, remember the children who never returned home, and stand with their families, communities and First Nations, Inuit and Métis peoples across Canada.

Reconciliation is not limited to one day. It is an ongoing commitment to listen, learn, reflect and build meaningful relationships.

We encourage Scouts, Scouters and families to wear orange, learn about the Indigenous peoples and traditional territories where you live and Scout, participate in Indigenous-led events where appropriate, and continue learning from Indigenous voices.

Apple Days are back, and Scouts across Canada are getting ready to continue a favourite Scouting tradition. Keep an eye out for your local Scout Group and grab some apples for a good cause! 🍂⚜️

And this year, no cash? No problem! 💳 Look out for participating Groups using @tiptappay to accept digital payments, making it even easier to support Scouts in your community.

💚 For generations of Scouts, Scouters and families, Apple Days has created plenty of great memories, and we’d love to hear yours!

Year 2 of our Early Years Pilot Program is underway, and more little explorers are getting their first taste of Scouting in communities across Canada! 🌿✨

From Saskatchewan to Manitoba to Nova Scotia and beyond, Chipmunks is giving children ages 4–5 opportunities to explore, play, make new friends, and discover just how much fun learning by doing can be. 💚

In Spring 2025, volunteers and staff shared what they wanted to see from Scouts Canada’s approach to volunteer performance management. That feedback, operational experience, and trends, has helped shape a proposed new framework. Now, we want your perspective on what comes next.

Maggie goes to beavers! 🦫
Beavers is a part of @scoutscanada where kids learn new skills and have new experiences particularly in outdoor types of lessons. We got to come and be a special guest and the kids learned about taking care of animals and even got to take a turn feeding Maggie her bottle of milk. And then lots of snuggles, cuddles, and playing for all the kids (human and goat alike) ❤️

Every young person deserves the chance to experience the adventure of Scouting.

We're proud to announce a new partnership with the Bass Pro Shops and Cabela's Outdoor Fund, helping make Scouting more accessible for youth and families across Canada.

Together, we're supporting two important initiatives that remove barriers to participation:

💚 No One Left Behind, helping approximately 250 youth access Scouting during the 2026–2027 Scouting Year by subsidizing membership fees.

🏕️ A new Outdoor Equipment Access Pilot, launching this fall at Camp Samac and Woodland Trails Scout Camp, providing access to essential camping equipment like tents, sleeping bags, and kitchen kits for youth experiencing financial hardship.

By helping more young people explore the outdoors, build confidence, develop practical skills, and create lifelong memories, this partnership is opening the door to even more Scouting adventures.

A heartfelt thank you to the Bass Pro Shops and Cabela's Outdoor Fund for helping ensure that financial barriers don't stand in the way of belonging, adventure, and personal growth.

Scout Groups across Canada have been busy selling, fundraising, and working towards their next big adventures. Now it’s time to see who’s leading the way! 👀

🎉 Check out this week’s Top 5 Scout Popcorn Groups on our leaderboard and follow along as the rankings are updated every week.

And there’s plenty to keep selling for!

👻 Earn the limited-edition 2026 Ghost Crest: If every Scout in your Group sells two cases of popcorn, each participating Scout will receive the exclusive crest.

🍕 Finish in the Top 3: The three leading Groups will celebrate with a pizza party! Winners are determined by average popcorn sales per participating youth, so getting the whole Group involved matters. If there are any dietary restrictions/severe food allergies in your group, you can opt for a Scout Shop gift card instead
