we are thrilled to finally present complete documentation for our recent work "沿光苍穹 / THE EVER-REACHING, LUMINESCENT HORIZON", now available in its entirety on our YouTube & the @issueprojectroom archive!! we were so lucky to have a fantastic video team to capture it and took our time editing and polishing it into a cinematic experience.

here are some of our favorite moments from our performance last fall, including a clip of the never-before-seen short film that concludes the piece (which did not play in the original performance) we're so proud of this work and cannot wait to share it now online, and to take it even more places!! :) by @scoyoh

"Portrait of Winona" is now out everywhere!!!!!! 🥺🥹😭🌊💕❤️

i will be celebrating this momentous occasion tonight @ 8pm with a concert/release party—there is a partiful RSVP in my bio!!! for those who cannot make it in person, i will provide a facetime link in bio + the partiful!!!! far-away friends, please tune in + say hi!!!!!!!!

the insanely beautiful cover photo was a collaboration led by winona's vision of having us posed by the special light of my bedroom window, in conversation with deana lawson's "Binky and Tony Forever". the development process was done completely analog by them, from framing the first photos to devloping and creating the final prints that we would then photograph for the actual album image, which is a photo of their photo print taped to their bedroom window with the morning tree shadows twinkling behind, linking our spaces in one image.

i could not be more proud of them as they begin their new journey making photos with film and see it as an equally momentous 'beginning' as my release. there is so much to do now that we have begun, and so much to celebrate—come celebrate it all with us tonight at 8pm :") HOPE U LIKE THE SONG!!!!!!!! 🤠😤😱👊😼😎 by @scoyoh

Hailed by The Crossfader as “one of the pioneers of the next generation’s classical music”, Scott Li’s @scoyoh compositions fuse modular synthesis, live processing, fixed media, film, photography, dance, and prose with elements of classical chamber music to “create a simultaneous understanding of The Beautiful and The Sublime, while exhibiting unparalleled emotional induction.”

Li is a frequent collaborator of a diverse group of musicians, filmmakers, visual artists, writers, and even dancers; in 2021, Li was commissioned by Vim Vigor Dance Company for the creation of “TOGETHER IS CLOSE ENOUGH”, a 30-minute site-specific installation dance piece which premiered at the University of Michigan Dance Department. Li is also a frequent collaborator and bestie with @levi.lu1 , 1/2 of @warpduo who’s work been featured at @pairiings recently, improvising sounds alongside a solo dancer.

Scott is one of the first artist I thought to book for @hinoki.dance debut for their passion for creating sounds that is delicate, emotional and trembling. Grateful to have Scott join us on opening night Oct 17 💙

On Oct 17-18, Hinoki takes over @planetx.studios for two nights of collective listening, immersive dance performances with large scale suspended projections and installations 🦋

On Oct 17, @the_sound_sculptress , LA-based DJ, producer, and label head of Delusional Records, brings sets that swirl airy vocals, metallic textures, and rigid grooves across releases on Yuku and Scuffed Recordings. Brooklyn’s @iamjuliehill , a singer-producer whose synth-driven, ambient work has drawn praise from Pitchfork, Stereogum, and KEXP, moves between the meditative calm of her 2024 album glow serene and the anxious rock of her single “Be Well.” Scott @scoyoh a celebrated violinist brings exprerimental, harrowing sounds to hinoki, he was commissioned by Vim Vigor Dance Company for a site-specific piece in 2021 and won 1st place at the 2019 Prix D’Été for his electroacoustic chamber work memoriae.

On Oct 18 lines up Ali Berger @aliberger.dr5 whose deep improvisational practice moves between the mechanized funk of Midwest house and gently freaked drum-machine rhythms, has built a catalog 400 tracks deep across his Trackland imprint and its offshoots. @suzie_sanford and @mattrecife two rising stars who became friends at NYU Steinhardt joins the night with a special collab. Suzie, a producer and member of @3rdave.live — collective championing underground rap and hyperpop — spent four years touring NYC, Sacramento, and Prague; Solo, she trades the group’s energy for moodier, ambient textures on hardware synths. Matthew, a Brooklyn-based classically trained saxophonist, has performed with R&B, pop, and experimental artists and taken the stage at Juilliard and the Chamber Society of Lincoln Center
Hinoki creator @jennchanx — a Hong Kong native now based in New York — presents the world-building soundtracks that inspired Hinoki: music gathered across a decade of moving between homes and searching for rootedness. Hinoki is where the things she treasured most as a child — dance, music, and performance — quietly come together, connecting an inner, meditative world to collective motion.

Movement led by: @carsyngekas @elinor.kd @savannahgaillard 🤎

WARP DUO 2026 China Tour 🇨🇳🪢🎺🐣🍐🥬

this july we had honor of playing finally in China, where our families were finally able to experience our work after years of waiting. this trip marks a major milestone in both our musical journey and personal lives. the shows we shared together remain some of the most special and meaningful yet. thankful for the gift of music and the opportunity to share it with our families, who showed up for us in a way that seemed almost like a wedding...and all of this made possible by a vibrant community of chinese noise musicians that we were so excited to finally share stages with.

thanks to @wufanfuxiaofu for hosting us in Beijing and @southern.alkaline for having us in Guangzhou!!! enjoy this recap of our trip—more music clips on the way 😎 taken in China中国 by @scoyoh

this july, i returned to China to embark on my first ever tour there, joining @levi.lu1 on their China tour in @warpduo form. after nearly a decade of performing electronic music, i was finally able to perform my music for my Beijing family, who showed up for the moment in droves. to share your music and art with loved ones can be nerve-wracking (as it was for me at times, especially when your music is this noisy), but in the moment, i felt such exhiliration, and an endless trust and gratitude to levi as my musical partner holding and propeling us through it all. i was honored by the gracious reception, and received some of the kindest words ever about my playing from @wufanfuxiaofu, who invited us over to play.

meanwhile, i was taken on the customary and yearly stomach-stuffing food tour by family in beijing and levi and @aijia_genki in guangzhou that left me with an unc beer belly that was never given a chance to recede for my entire time there...

my heart feels full, from the music, the insane Guangzhounese food, and the precious time reuniting with friends & family. holding on to these moments. i can't wait to share the music that has ensued—part 2/warp duo post incoming... 🪻🪷🌊☀️🌳 by @scoyoh

testing a new violin feedback instrument/system i have been developing this year, inspired by @levi.lu1's signature augmented controllable feedback instruments. trying to channel my inner (post-)rockstar and create a new hybrid kind of sing-scream between guitar amp feedback, distorted analog synth, and vocal belt...feeling so excited about this, possibilities seem endless taken in Beijing, China by @scoyoh
