Immortalis animae

I am not the same
No, The Hands that framed
the border wall with a leaky pen
Were left by someone strange
I am not the same
No —The fingers that etched— hope into memorandum—La Llorona’s tears—a crystal safe
Our children die, but it is us sentenced to the grave
She is not the same
I closed the book I turned the page
I sealed the vault
I sealed my fate
The midnight ink dried
The blood drained from my veins
She lays
Bound
A Persephone
Haunting a parallel plane
She is not the same
Ancestral lines
Kindred souls
That will never again
Meet face to face.
