At the ridiculously early hour of 16:40, the corpse‑painted drummer of Black Spikes stormed the stage and yelled, “Come on, Barba Negra, let’s have a good time!” before smashing straight into the first track of their 40‑minute set.
Honestly, it would’ve been pretty hard not to obey him.
Sunday afternoon or not, the Lithuanian five‑piece tore up the stage with a kind of wild momentum that caught everyone in the room off guard. Their nine‑song setlist was packed exclusively with last year’s and this year’s bangers, delivered in their trademark mix of theatrical, sometimes downright surreal, but always high‑voltage, in‑your‑face style.
Despite the early start, a solid crowd showed up — and they made it very clear, with cheers, claps, and full‑volume yelling, that they were absolutely into what they were seeing and hearing.
Their extreme, genre‑blending metal — already boosted by their dramatic stage presence — hit even harder thanks to the non‑English lyrics, Agni’s phenomenal voice, the band’s raw, elemental energy, and the dancer who kept reappearing throughout the show.
Sadly, their allotted stage time flew by way too fast. Here’s hoping they come back as a headliner next time, because after what they pulled off here, even ninety minutes wouldn’t be enough.
