Quezon City is now a UNESCO Creative City of Film! Being part of the UNESCO means stronger policies for film workers, sustainable career development programs, and enhanced global visibility for Filipino creativity!

This milestone marks a new era for Quezon City — proudly becoming one of the first Southeast Asian cities to receive this honor. 🙌

𝗕𝗔𝗖𝗞 𝗢𝗡 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗙𝗜𝗟𝗠 𝗦𝗧𝗥𝗜𝗣 𝗙𝗢𝗥 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗧𝗛𝗜𝗥𝗗 𝗧𝗜𝗠𝗘

Kasabay ng pagdaraos ng Philippine Film Industry Month, matagumpay na bumyahe ang SeeKyusi: Byaheng Pelikula nitong Sept. 17 sa iba-ibang film sites sa loob ng Quezon City.

Bukas para sa publiko, nagkaroon ng makabuluhk,ang pag-iikot sa FPJ Studios (@fpjproductions), Broadway House (formerly LVN House), at CMB Film Services, Inc. (@cmbfilms.ph) ang mga dumalo sa tour na ito. Mula filming locations hanggang film production and restoration sites, nasa sentro ng tour na ito ang kasaysayan, at dedikasyon na siyang bumuo sa mga kwentong pelikula sa puso ng Quezon City.

Sa bawat lugar na ating binisita, mas nakilala natin ang lungsod bilang tahanan ng mga kwentong Pilipino at bahagi ng patuloy na pag-unlad ng ating pelikula.

Hanggang sa susunod na roadtrip ng SeeKyusi: Byaheng Pelikula at mabuhay ang pelikulang Pilipino!

SCREEN QC SPOTTED AT ASEAN CREATIVE INDUSTRIES EXPO 2026

Together with nine other creative industries from across the country, Screen QC participated as one of the exhibitors at the ASEAN Creative Industries Expo by Malikhaing Pinoy 2026 in the Audiovisual Domain Exhibit from Sept. 18 to Sept. 19.

Held at the SMX Convention Center Aura in Taguig, the event provided Screen QC with an opportunity to showcase its plans and projects for the growing screen industry, while strengthening connections and fostering collaboration with stakeholders across the country.

Screen QC is honored to have been part of ASEAN MPEx 2026 and to contribute to an initiative that advances creativity, innovation, and collaboration across the Philippine creative industry.

BACK ON BIG SCREEN WITH GREAT INSIGHTS AT NU FAIRVIEW!

What a way to wrap up our second stop of QCinema (@qcinemaph) Campus ToursDay at National University - Fairview (@nufairview)!

We revisited Sheron R. Dayoc’s landmark 10th year anniversary of the film, Women of the Weeping River (2016), and spent the day reflecting on its powerful story of conflict, courage, and breaking cycles passed down through generations.

From the big-screen experience to the conversations, reactions, and shared moments with the Nationalians, thank you for making this stop one to remember.

Here’s to more films, more stories, and more meaningful conversations with the next generation of Filipino cinephiles!

My biggest yearly project with @unesco_phnatcom is finally finished: Momentum 2025 UNACOM Annual Report! 📖

Established in 1951, the UNESCO National Commission of the Philippines (UNACOM) synergizes the work of the Philippine government with UNESCO’s programmes in education, sciences, culture, and communication.

Photographed by @ivanhenares, the Quezon Memorial Shrine graces the cover of this 172-page publication, spotlighting last year’s triple @unesco designation of Quezon City as Creative City of Film, Learning City, and Media and Information Literacy City.

Inside, feature stories I wrote and photographed provide in-depth looks at other new designations, such as Dumaguete City of Literature and The Practice of Making Asin Tibuok as Intangible Cultural Heritage in Need of Urgent Safeguarding.

The River that Never Ends - Part of the official selection for QCinema 2023’s LGBTQ Shorts, which then went to earn recognition from international film festivals in Singapore, Berlin, and NFFTY.

Kun’ Di Man - Winner of the QCinema Audience choice award in 2017

Judy Free - Winner of 2019 QCinema Best Short Film, with nominations from FAMAS, Gawad Urian, and the Singapore International Film Festival.

FILIPIÑANA SWINGING ON THE OSCARS!

Screen QC and QCinema (@qcinemaph) are beyond proud of ‘Filipiñana’(@filipiniana.film) for being the Philippines’ official entry in the Best International Feature Film Category at the 99th Academy Awards!

Rafael Manuel’s “Filipiñana” was selected by a committee composed of Filipino film experts approved by AMPAS and FAP.

The film received partial funding from QCinema Project Market in 2024 where it garnered post-production support. After recently serving as the closing film of the 22nd Cinemalaya Film Festival, Filipiñana now swings its way toward the Oscars, bringing pride to Filipinos worldwide.

We are rooting for you on the global screen, pinsan!
