Woo here’s the next installment of Scriabin x Mysticism, ft. another silly intro bit I made last week. I’m definitely finding it challenging to keep these concepts short, so sooner than I intended I may have to start putting up some longer form content on YouTube. If anyone is interested in that let me know!

As requested, more of the Scriabin Fantasy, but trying out a new camera placement!

Here is the long awaited 500 follower special, a transcription of the opening of Scriabin’s Poem of Ecstasy! I did not anticipate surpassing 1k before finishing this, but the voting for the 1k special will begin tomorrow! Share or repost this, I’m quite happy with how this is coming out. Maybe a full transcription in 2027…👀

I should’ve gotten a better take earlier, but he showed up a couple minutes early. Rarely do I have an issue with my students arriving early, especially if there isn’t someone before them, but I was trying to hard to finish the passage before he got to the door 😭

A bit from a recording of this I took last week, really loving this piece.

You know the joke of the U.S. invading countries once they hear there’s oil? That’s me when I come across a new Russian composer who’s music isn’t ever explored, so far all I can find of Goedicke is his piano concerto and an album of his student pieces, but no recordings of his serious solo piano works. It’ll take me a good while to pick up this sonata, but look out in maybe 2027 for this sonata from me! Unless someone else does it first 🤔

Had the thought that this symphony would also work on the drive to the church, so bare with me and my slightly slower pace 🙌🏻 definitely going to attempt sections of the third movement as well, but that’ll need some more time!

Some pianos just don't let you rest your phone I guess 🤷‍♂️

Going to keep up this habit again, whether I post them or not! Let me know if you want to see more of this stuff, especially as I'm grinding my graduate auditions and such!

Spent part of the evening trying to take audition recordings for a competition, which went negligibly well, thankfully I have more time to record in other spaces. But I thought I’d take some time to play through some more Scriabin!

Hopping on this trend 🙏🏼

I don’t remember the last time I’ve taken more than a day off from practicing, much less even touching a piano, it’s at least been quite a few years! Monday morning when I went back to it and tried to start with some Bach, but alas my hands seemingly were blind for around 30 minutes as I readjusted. Now feeling a little back into form, but jumping right back into my busy work schedule as an accompanist hasn’t helped!

Just a bit of the same Alexandrov sonata from a recording I tried to take today.
