Step inside Tokyo’s temple to stationery…

Last week, I finally got to visit our Japanese stockist, Kakimori, in person. It is a paper lover’s paradise, a place with an ink bar to mix your own bespoke colour, a workshop to make a completely custom notebook, and a selection of the most exquisite stationery supplies, perfect pens and covetable cards across two exquisitely arranged floors. This is their 15th year, and to celebrate they were giving away sweets with sugar portraits of the owner, a pot of ink, and a notebook!

Kakimori carry a very small number of card brands, and it is our great honour to be one of them. Visiting them for the first time was very special.

I ❤️ Tokyo!

It’s been a very exciting week for Scribble & Daub, showing at @interiorlifestyletokyo for the first time. Today is our final day, find us in the British Pavilion, West Hall 2.

We’ve met so many brilliant people over the past few days. Huge thanks to the incredible team at #DBT and @batf_insights for all their support, and to the @britishlibrary @businessandipcentre for their excellent online course which introduced me to @margoselbystudio (who turns out to be a karaoke legend!)and who told me about the trip just in time to apply for it. ✨

This week The Scribble notes that it was National Stationery Week.

Though not usually one for spurious celebrations of anything and everything -National Step In A Puddle And Splash Your Friends Day (Jan 11) Lost Sock Memorial Day (May 9) and International Talk Like a Pirate Day (Sept 19) for example..! However, Stationery Week (from 11-17 May) presents the perfect opportunity to share what’s new and exciting in our shop so head to my latest journal article (link in bio) to find oit.

And whilst none of you stylish stationery lovers would ever dream of confusing stationery & stationary, pedantic paper pedlars like me are constantly surprised by how many people still do, so above is a gentle reminder to mark the occasion!
