Knitting without a net taught by @scribbleknitter is back at Acorn!

Ready to break the rules and just let your creativity flow?
This three-session class takes the skills you have learned through knitting all types of projects and applies them in an improvisational manner to create something completely unscripted. Free-form knitting can broaden your skill set and take your work to a new level of creativity

Using a photo for inspiration, we will create a study of the image that measures roughly 7”x7” using a variety of knitting techniques that can be aggressively blocked to about 12” x 12” and demonstrates knitting without a pattern or chart. Stitches used include, but are not limited to, I-cord cast on, garter tab cast on, increases including make 1 left (m1L) or make 1 right (m1R), wrap and turn, intarsia, decreases including slip-slip-knit (SSK), 3-stitch decrease, knit two together (K2Tog), I-cord edging, and stretchy I-cord bind-off. Additional stitches and techniques may be introduced as well.

Skill requirement - Advanced knitter

Materials
US #10.5 (6.5 mm) OR US #11 (8.0 mm) 16” (40 cm) & 24” (60 cm) circular needles in either fixed or interchangeable tips.
At least 2 lace eight or light fingering non-superwash* yarns in the colors and textures you want. For example, Einband, mohair/silk and alpaca/silk blends work well. Bring enough yarn to create a swatch approximately 7” x 7” (blocked size will be about 12” x 12”). Swatches weight approximately 20 grams.
