POSTS STORIES REELS

We won!!! Tyler Sabbag @tylerdrums , Duncan Thum @house_of_duncaroo , and I just won a Daytime Emmy for Outstanding Music Composition for Netflix' Live to 100: Secrets of the Blue Zones!!! Wow, more posts to come about this soon, but this is such a tremendous honor. It was an absolute delight to work with two of my best buds on this beautiful series. We've worked together on a ton of projects up to this point, and this really feels like the culmination of all the collaborations we've done thus far. I feel like something really special happens when we collab together, and we come up with things we never would of on our own (in all the best of ways). Tyler, Duncan, love ya guys!!! You're a couple of the greatest, kindest, and most creative humans I know. I'm so dang lucky, to say the least.

Big time congrats to the ridiculously talented @clayjeter as well for winning Best Directing Team for a Single Camera Daytime Non-Fiction Program!! So incredibly well deserved for an absolutely fantastic guy.
.
A huge thanks to all my family and friends (and my amazing wife @ktorade) for all your endless love and support! Could not have gotten here without you all.

My latest track "Sky Kite Valley" for @1985games released today on youtube! I had such a blast working on this music with the awesome folks at 1985 (as always!).

Heavily Ghibli/Zelda inspired, this piece is a blend between bustling city life and soaring gliders that ride the thermals up and down the length and breadth of the town.

Hope you enjoy! :)

What an amazing night at the @hmmawards ! It was truly an honor to be amongst all the incredibly talented music makers there. It was fantastic reconnecting with some great friends that I haven't seen in years and years, including @house_of_duncaroo , @davidbertokmusic , @juan.carlos.enriquez.composer , and my agent @natalia11216 . There were so many wonderful folks there and it was just an all around great time. Seeing a clip from @wetpaperbag_film during the opening video montage was so, so awesome 😁

Big time congrats to all the nominees and winners!!

The full (30 track) Wet Paper Bag (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack) is up now on my website! Feel free to check it out (link in bio) if and whenever it strikes your fancy. 😁

I recorded myself singing/breathing on this one, along with strummed psaltery, irish bodhran, electric bass, and more.

So incredibly stoked!! See you soon, LA 😁 by @scribtide

So excited to be nominated twice for this years Hollywood Music In Media Awards! Working with @adamburke333 and @judnichols (and all the other fine Minnesota folks) on @wetpaperbag_film was absolutely incredible. They were really open to trying lots of things out (and taking our time) and I'm so thrilled with where this score and trailer ended up. It's a really fun blend of strings/live cello/eurorack/my weird singing/breathing/chanting 😁

I'm so honored to be up there with all this incredible music making talent, including my buds @house_of_duncaroo , @davidbertokmusic , and @juan.carlos.enriquez.composer . Big time congrats to all the nominees!!

Chef's Table: Legends is streaming on Netflix now! I had the pleasure of working with one of my best buds Duncan Thum ( @house_of_duncaroo ) on the music for the Thomas Keller episode. I'm incredibly stoked with how it all turned out and came together.

This short video features one of my tracks from the episode called "The French Laundry".

You should definitely check it out! I'm really excited to check out the other three episodes, as well :)

Lately I’ve been thinking about how life has a funny way of coming full circle. Ten years ago, when I was fresh out of USC, my friend and classmate Duncan Thum asked if I wanted to help score a new docuseries. I said yes, having no clue what it would turn into.

That project became Chef’s Table (now Netflix’s longest-running original series!) and it ended up shaping so much of my career. It also kicked off some of my most cherished creative partnerships. Duncan, Tyler Sabbag, Sebastian Ornemark and I have worked on a number of projects since then, but those early days of Chef’s Table will always hold a special place for me.

Sharing a short clip here from the early days. This is the cold open of Season 2, Episode 2, featuring the incredible Alex Atala. The music is a piece I wrote called Circles, inspired by ideas of movement, connection, and return. It unfolds gradually, but something special happens as it draws you in.

As Atala tells his story of a revelatory acid trip about the meaning of life, I started the cue off with some very vibey/trippy synths and subtle reversed effects. All very floaty and somewhat psychedelic. As he starts talking about circles, a plucky synth motor circles round and around (heyooo Moog Sub 37!). Cello layers sneak in as the cue progresses to bring some more emotion and weight.

This is such an incredible cold open and episode as a whole. Atala is fascinating to watch and even more fascinating to listen to.

Now, a decade later, I’m honored to return to work on Chef’s Table for the 10th anniversary season, co-composing the Thomas Keller episode with Duncan.

It premieres April 28 on Netflix. I can’t wait for you to see it!

Wow, what a year 2024 was! Always fun looking back on all the fantastic projects I've been lucky enough to be involved with (and all the amazing, awesome, and talented people I got to work with).

From winning an Emmy with my buddies Duncan Thum and Tyler Sabbag, to writing Zelda/Ghibli inspired tabletop music, to working with a video game audio legend, to working on another episode of Chef's Table... I feel incredibly lucky and grateful.

There are lots of awesome things in the works, and I'm so excited for 2025.

Happy new year, everyone! :)

Lost Amongst the Grass, track 06 from my upcoming album for Obojima: Tales from the Tall Grass!! Definitely the most melancholy, delicate song of the bunch. Strong, strongggg @joehisaishi.official Ghibli vibes and inspiration here. Really enjoyed focusing on the piano and writing very dainty staccato woodwind parts. Also, how cool is this artwork?! (and all the Obojima artwork ❤️)

More coming soon! (Full version is available on youtube)
