I glanced out the window from the house and saw Mr Scroll Trellis installing a screen door on our shop office. Then I realized our hanging basket was so big, if he wanted, he could hide behind it!😂 OR this plant may be a man-eater. Has this ever happened to you? You're excited for Spring, you plant your hanging basket, you take loving care of your plants on #fertilizerfriday , but you're still waiting for your eye-catching plant combo to become, well, eye-catching?
💜
Here's help for Spring 2026: Transform your hanging baskets from flat to fabulous with a simple dome trellis!

The "before" shows a typical hanging basket of petunias - pretty, but lacking dimension. The "after" reveals how adding a dome trellis instantly creates vertical interest and structure, even when the plants are still young and sparse in early spring.

While we wait for the petunias to fill out into their full summer glory, the trellis provides immediate visual impact with its distinctive framework. As the season progresses, the petunias will cascade through the dome, creating a stunning spherical display that's far more dramatic than a standard hanging basket.

💜It's amazing how one simple addition can elevate your container gardening from ordinary to extraordinary - giving you beautiful structure now and promising an
even more spectacular show as your plants mature!

Here is something very curious! 🤔 The Thunbergia vine grown from seed is blooming with orange flowers, as expected in my hanging basket. As the flowers matured and went to seed, they reseeded themselves in the heavy clay Virginia soil, below the hanging basket. Every single one of the flowers is now a light yellow in the clay soil and the center "eye" is now white! I placed an orange flower from the hanging basket, next to the ground grown vines for comparison, in this video. Thoughts @gransgardenseeds ? The hanging basket is huge, at least 2 feet in diameter. The vine is climbing our 18 inch tall, 20 inch wide short obelisk for hanging baskets.
