It only took four years, but I now have a complete set of fall fern photos of my dogs. 🥹

Lana’s photo is from this week. Mishka’s is from last fall. Conway’s was the start of this from 2022. I didn’t set out to get that photo, but the ferns were so delightfully orange and the scenery was just perfect. It’s still one of my favorite photos!

What’s your dog’s story? What’s their dirty little secret? I love it when clients tell me little stories and tidbits about their pups so much. Why?

For one, I just love dogs and I think they are hilarious. I won’t judge you or your dog if they have a bit of a naughty streak — it’s probably super relatable or really wild and I am nosey. Please tell me lol.

Second, talking about your dog is probably super easy and it’ll help us all get more comfortable. It’s not everyday that you have professional photos taken. Heck, maybe this is your first time in front of the camera like this. Talking about your best friend and sharing their stories and antics can help you feel more chill. At least that’s how I feel.

And lastly, these stories can help me capture your bond and your pup’s story even more! There is no one-photo-fits-all cookie-cutter approach to pet photography. I don’t shoot the same poses each time just like I don’t use the same park or backdrop each time.

There’s a new story with each session. New creativity abounds. I want to know more about you and your dog. What do they do that makes you laugh? What do they do that drives you crazy? Tell me everything. I’ll listen and capture and share what I see through my lens.

Earlier this summer, I had the opportunity to meet Watson and his family for a photo session at their favorite local park. We got lucky with the most beautiful golden and glowy evening light and took full advantage. 🧡

Watson was the primary focus for this session, but we made sure to capture some sweet moments of him with his poodle sister and brothers (Irene, Baker, and Arthur) — swipe to see the group shot! Irene, Baker, and Arthur each got their own solo and pup+human photos, too!

This was my first session with four dogs (I’ve had multiple sessions with three dogs, but never more than that), and it went really well! Having three humans along for the session definitely helped, so I’ll remember that for future large group sessions. taken in Twin Cities, MN by @scrufflifephotography

To love and to be loved by a dog is truly a gift. 🤍

Greta and her humans found each other when they all needed a bit of love. Greta had been bullied by a dog in her previous home, and Susan and Scott had just lost one of their own dogs. Their dog Thunder was sad without a buddy, so Greta came at just the right time. Greta was scared of Thunder at first, and he was uninterested in her, but after a week they were inseparable. Thunder taught Greta how to be a dog and protected her from ever being picked on.

Thunder has since passed, but Greta seems to like all of the attention of being an only dog. She is certainly very loved!

It was an honor capturing these moments of Greta and her people in their beautiful backyard on the lake. A place that Greta loves so much. She was such a ham for her photo session. Happy to pose and smile and show me all of her favorite places. taken in Twin Cities, MN by @scrufflifephotography
