I was lucky to meet this great hammerhead patrolling the ocean floor while a stingray and a lemon shark were passing by. These encounters are the main reason why I keep diving and always bring my camera under water. You never know what you will meet down there

It breaks my heart to know that the great hammerhead is now critically endangered. Seeing them alive and free like this is a reminder of what we need to protect 🌊🦈❤️‍🩹

🦈 Why diving with Tiger Sharks in shallow water is a mistake:

Diving at just 2 meters (6 feet) depth is highly unpredictable. In shallow water, there is no vertical escape route for you or the shark.

Here is why it is a dangerous zone:

⚠️ Surface Risk: The vast majority of fatal shark attacks happen right at the surface.

🚨 Hunting Instincts: Being this close to the surface triggers their natural hunting instincts.

🌊 Wave Surge: Powerful water movement makes body control extremely difficult.

Deep water allows for much safer interactions, 360-degree awareness, and mutual respect.

I dive with and capture sharks regularly, and I always try to position myself so both the sharks and I have a clear escape route. During this dive, I took an unnecessary risk—even though it turned out fine. 🚫

Remember: This environment requires advanced experience and training. 🌊📸🦈

The Seiko Prospex ‘Sandbanks of Maldives’ has really become one of my favorite tool watches while scuba diving. Only 1700 made but I’m pretty sure that very few of these 1700 have been where I’m usually bringing mine…

I was diving with these beautiful sharks today. It might come as a surprise for some people, but this is what the dive watches actually are made for. I bring them to the depth of the ocean as often as I can, to make sure they don’t get too used to the dry life on land.

Two baby eagle rays gliding through the deep in strong current together. They often carry a beautiful golden bronze color when they are young, with a pattern on their backs that looks just like a moving starry night. Seeing two of these solitary pups side by side is truly a magical moment 💫
