Scuffed.
Grit in the grain.
Wear logs, teacore, and dark scribbles.
Black paint, brown core, hard-earned patina.

Lately Ive been wearing these boots everyday since august and into September. Although Ive been tempted to switch back to my black iron rangers. Ive been…Too curious as to what character these engineers will develop into over time.

2966: Surrendered to the Miles.

The road is hot. The leather knows it.
Black hide softens, heavy and dark.
My 2966s give up their edge,
molding to the shape of my stride.
Not just the veg-tan underfoot,
but every inch of the upper wrapping close—
vamp, instep, the grip on my heel.
Pliant. Supple. Mine.
Bred in the tannery,
broken on the asphalt,
fused to the foot at last.

[Entry 007]

13 hours in my boots today.

I’ve been wearing ’em a lot this past week. Don’t even know why I cleaned and conditioned them today when I’m just gonna throw ’em back on tomorrow for work.

But I guess that’s the point.

A good pair of boots gets dirty, gets worn, gets beat up—and you clean ’em up just to do it all over again.

Leather on my feet, miles underneath me, and another long day waiting tomorrow.

They may be work boots, but they’re starting to feel like part of me.

Cleaned. Conditioned. Ready for another day.

Also…sorry but this song has been burned into my brain i love it so much. So stick around and enjoy. 🎶 🎶 by @scuffed.notes
