Captains Log: Last couple weeks of May it rained, terribly. It “ruined” everyone’s Memorial Day weekend. It was a roller coaster of emotions for me personally. If you purchased an “emotional baggage” tote bag ii appreciate you. If you didn’t I’m cooking something up for you, promise. DRAKE dropped 3 albums, he got the summer locked and prolly the winter too. Kapri told me she hates DRAKE. Joe from HARLEMworld came into town. We ain’t get a pic. No love life but my crush watches my story from time to time. She even likes somethin every now and then. Small wins. One day, you gona close ya eyes and that will be it. There will be no more time to do the things you always wanted.

Still doing the yoga thing, still exercising, still journaling, still praying for those I’ve lost cuz the love ain’t.

A moment for transparency:

Long before ii told anyone the plan to become a cycle instructor; only a few knew. One person in particular I’ve known since we were 10 years old would send me all sorts of ideas for when the time came. Some days ii thought she wanted it more than me. lol. But one idea stuck out in particular. She never made it to a class because she got sick. Last thing she told me was “stop being afraid.” ii took the idea and hit the ground running. Nowadays ii tend to hear her in my head saying;
“I told you this shit was going to be fire!”
It’s no coincidence the last day of the month falls on a Wednesday, it’s alignment.

On Wednesdays we wear pink🩷

ii was recently told by an elder to humble myself. ii was afraid to have a conversation with this person because ii didn’t want to come off arrogant/ungrateful and I’ve always struggled with tone and delivery; plus someone always think I’m yelling or angry but that’s just how ii talk.

ii surround myself around strong and confident people so ii can’t shrink myself into the box she wanted me in. What they didn’t understand is that I’ve spent years crawling out of a gritty abyss and took a backseat to just about everything. ii have a big personality and it’s meant to shine. Not only for me but for those ii keep close and those watchin to know anything’s possible. If you see me in public just know ii fought long and hard to be here; in this space. There was a time ii hated everything and everyone.

Please forgive me if ii come off ungrateful or arrogant but I’m living in so many answered prayers and ii ain’t going back to nothin’ ii had to pray my way out of. When the conversation was finished she embraced me, tightly. And gave me a promotion.
