“Honestly I don’t remember much of my childhood
”
“I feel like my memory is just bad?”
“There are whole years I can’t recall anything
”

I hear this all the time — especially from high-functioning, over-responsible women who don’t have one big, obvious trauma.

Because it’s not always about what happened.
It’s often about what didn’t happen.

The attunement that wasn’t there.
The safety that wasn’t consistent.
The emotional needs that had no place to land.

Your brain adapted by staying in survival
 not in storage.

So no — your memory isn’t “bad.”
Your nervous system just prioritized getting you through.

And here’s the most important part:
You do not need the memories to heal.

With Brainspotting, we don’t rely on story or recall (unlike EMDR).
We work with the body — because the body holds what the mind couldn’t organize at the time.

You don’t have to remember it
to process it
to release it
to finally feel like you’re here in your life.

It sounds ridiculous
until you understand what’s actually happening in the brain.

This is Brainspotting therapy.

Brainspotting works by using eye position to access the parts of the brain where trauma, stress, and emotional overwhelm are stored — often outside of conscious awareness. Instead of talking about the trauma or reliving it out loud, the brain is allowed to process it organically, at its own pace.

That’s why one Brainspotting session can take something that has felt overwhelming, consuming, and stuck for years — a true 10/10 in distress — and bring it down significantly, sometimes to a 3/10 or lower, in a single session.

No forcing.
No retelling every detail.
No pushing through.

Brainspotting is client-led, intuitive, and nervous-system focused. Your brain knows where to go and what to process — my job is simply to help create the conditions for that healing to happen.

This is why it can feel fast.
This is why it can feel deep.
And this is why it often works even when talk therapy hasn’t.

It may look simple on the outside.
But the brain is doing powerful, precise work underneath. taken in Valencia, California by @scvmft

Ever feel like your past keeps showing up
even when you think you’ve healed?

I’m Chelsea 👋 — Brainspotting therapist, toddler mom, Scorpio, and human who’s healing right alongside you. I help people break cycles, release generational wounds, and finally get unstuck from patterns that keep showing up in their present.

Whether you’ve tried talk therapy before or this is your first step, my approach is real, intuitive, and no-BS. I combine Brainspotting, trauma-informed techniques, and relational therapy to meet you where you are — letting your brain + body guide the work instead of forcing it.

Virtual or office sessions — either way, the goal is the same: helping you feel safe, seen, and supported while reclaiming your life.

✹ Rewire your brain. Reclaim your life.

Maybe the goal isn’t to get back to who you were before.

The version of you who made it through did her job. She got you here. You can be grateful for her and still make room for who you’re becoming.

✹ If you’ve been thinking about reaching out, consider this your nudge—DM me and let’s find a time that works.

One hour where I’m not holding space for clients, wiping little butts, or being needed by anyone else. 😅

People think I’m a morning person because I’ve been waking up at 5 a.m. to go to the gym for over a decade. I’m not. It’s never easy, and I’d almost always rather stay in bed. But I know I need this hour—it sets the tone for my whole day, and I want my kids to see what discipline and consistency look like.

I come home feeling more like myself and better able to show up grounded and present in the therapy room and at home. Taking time for yourself doesn’t mean you’re taking something away from the people you care for. It’s how you come back with more to give. đŸ–€

Finding time for therapy during the week can be tough when you’re juggling work, kids, childcare, sports, and everything else life puts on the calendar.

I offer Saturday appointments for weekly clients, and Sundays are reserved for Brainspotting intensives—one client per day so there’s plenty of space and attention for the work.

Weekend appointments can make therapy fit a little more realistically into real life. đŸ–€

High school me would be so proud that my 4- and 5-year-olds can SCRAP! I got into plenty of fights back then, and if I’m honest, I liked the power and the release.

Now I get to watch them build strength, confidence, and the ability to stand up for themselves through Brazilian jiu-jitsu—with discipline, control, and respect shaping how they use that strength. They’re learning to protect themselves if they need to, without needing to prove anything or use fighting to manage their emotions.

Maybe this is what cycle breaking looks like in our house: helping my kids build a healthier relationship with strength than I had at their age. To the moms doing that work too, I see you. 💛

If setting a boundary makes you feel like a bad person, pause before you take it back. You might not be doing anything wrong—you might just be doing something unfamiliar.

Motherhood can consume so much of who we are that finding ourselves again starts to feel selfish.

But when our kids see us invest in ourselves, pursue our interests, laugh too loudly, try new things, and do something simply because it makes us feel alive—they learn that they’re allowed to do the same.

They learn that growing up doesn’t mean abandoning who they are. That life doesn’t have to become all responsibility and no joy. That they can keep exploring what makes them happy, what gives them purpose, and what lights them up—no matter how old they get or how serious life becomes.

Taking care of yourself isn’t taking something away from your children.

Sometimes, finding your spark again is exactly how you teach them to protect theirs. ✹ taken in Valencia, California by @scvmft
