💕✨ CALIFORNIA BRAIDERS, THIS ONE IS FOR YOU! ✨💕

We're investing in the future of California's braiding industry! 💖

The California Braiders Network is proud to announce our 2026 Braider Career Advancement Scholarship, awarding TWO $1,500 SCHOLARSHIPS to help California braiders take their careers to the next level! 🎓💕

📍 NORCAL — $1,500
📍 SOCAL — $1,500

Whether you're pursuing education, licensing, certifications, business development, or professional equipment, we want to help you GROW! 💕

This year's scholarship is especially meaningful as we honor the life and legacy of Frances Kay, a trailblazing cosmetologist, salon owner, educator, and mother whose determination helped create opportunities for generations of beauty professionals. 🕊️💗

Her legacy lives on through her daughter, Ms. Tracie Williams and the generations of beauty professionals following in her footsteps.

THE DETAILS 💕

🗓️ Applications: October 12–31, 2026
🏆 Finalists & results: November 2026
🎀 Winners celebrated at our regional CBN Holiday Luncheons & Award Ceremonies in December!

✨ You do NOT need to be a CBN member or hold a cosmetology license to apply!

BRAIDERS, YOUR NEXT LEVEL IS CALLING! 💕

👉🏾 Applications open October 12! Visit the link in our bio to apply.

Tag a California braider who deserves this opportunity! Let's invest in OUR industry, OUR people, and OUR future! 💖

😂😂😂

POV: You found the butterfly braid inspo on Pinterest...

...but your braider gave you Caterpillar Cornrows instead. 🐛😭

No shade—we're just here for the laughs. 🤭💕

Client: "I just want simple cornrows." 🥹

The inspo: 😭😂

Braiders... be honest. How many times has this happened this week? 🤣

Clients, we love the creativity... but sometimes "simple" and Pinterest have two completely different definitions. 😂

👇 What's the wildest "simple" inspo you've ever seen?

Braiders: Tell us your funniest request.
Clients: Defend yourselves in the comments. 🤭

POV: You thought 2 feed-ins would be the "easy" appointment. 😭😂

Clients: "It's only 2 braids."

Braiders: "Exactly... ONLY TWO chances to make every single part, curve, grip, and stitch PERFECT." 😭

Respectfully... 2 braids are one of the most stressful styles in the shop. 😂

@ jae.braided

Braiders... what's harder:
👀 2 feed-in braids
👀 Freestyle stitch braids
👀 Straight-back cornrows

🚩 Toxic Braider Traits vs. Toxic Client Traits 🤣

Let's be honest... we've ALL been guilty of at least one. 😭

👀 Which one called you out the most?

Braiders: Which Toxic Braider Trait is 100% you? 😂

Clients: Which Toxic Client Trait are you defending in the comments? 👀

No judgment... this is a safe space (kinda). 🤭

⬇️ Drop the number of the slide that exposed you.

Tag your favorite braider or your favorite client who needs to see this. 😂🩷

Sanitation isn't optional. 🩷

Whether you're licensed, self-taught, or learned from family, every client deserves clean, disinfected tools.

Protect your clients. Protect yourself. Protect your business.

Professionalism starts with proper sanitation.

What other sanitation topics should we cover next? 👇🏾
