Every donation, every share, every message of support has helped create something truly meaningful for communities that have endured so much. What has already been achieved is difficult to measure, not only in meals, supplies and practical support, but in dignity, hope and the knowledge that people have not been forgotten.

If you ever hear me complaining about anything in my life my friends, please feel free to give me a virtual tough love slap! I so wish you could all experience just 5 minutes of being here ~ I am seeing and experiencing the best of humanity. What has moved me most is how the kids are all taking care of each other and helping out as much as they can. Cooking and serving the adults. It feels like they innately know that something terrible has happened and they need to comfort their elders. Yesterday we met with the municipality for this area where the school is. They expressed their gratitude for all of the donations. The school has become a vital hub for the survivors, most have climbed the steep mountain to be here, shelter, warmth, food and friends. My friend @sdgfilippa will keep the fundraiser going after we have left to channel funds for the school. The journey here was arduous, but every minute spent traveling was repaid a thousand fold as I got the chance to cook for these beautiful souls. THANK YOU everyone for your support. One day I would love to return to the school and cook again for everyone. Going to do my best to make this dream come store. Namaste 🙏 @pudasaini_saroj

8:10pm & I am ready for bed. What an awesome day! Thanks to your generosity we will deliver this much needed food & cooking equipment to survivors of the devastating floods here in Nepal. We leave at 4am tomorrow morning for Uttargaya which is about a 17 hour drive as many of the roads have been washed away. The time it takes does not matter, being there does. Thanks to everyone who has donated to the fundraiser to enable us to do this and to Soraj @pudasaini_saroj & all the volunteers. I will try and keep you all updated but it could be a challenge so will rely on telling the story when I get back. Good on you as well @sdgfilippa for launching the fundraiser. Please meet my legendary new friends here in Kathmandu ~ Robic & Gagan. This morning we met up to discuss the plans for our “Meals for Nepal” fundraiser and how we can support the survivors of the devastating floods here in Nepal. Robic is on the frontline as he has been taking pictures for the UN & Gagan has sadly lost friends in the floods and is compelled to help. We will leave for Rasuwa this Sunday to either set up a mobile kitchen or help existing kitchens that are running out of much needed supplies. The damage from the floods is wide spread and even though Kathmandu was not affected there is another challenge looming and that is the delivery of gas bottles to the city. Some of the main roads to the city have been cut off due to landslides and heavy rain meaning that trucks cannot get through with the gas bottles. This also impacts the mobile kitchens so we are now looking at an alternative and buying small portable wood burners. We will be ensuring that fresh food and supplies are getting to the people who need support and also looking at how we can provide a cooked meal as well. THANK YOU everyone for your support. I will keep you all posted on how everything is progressing. Feels like all of my experience in community kitchens has led me to this very moment in time and I am so humbled and grateful to be here. Humbled and grateful for every donation for our Meals For Nepal Crowdfunder. THANK YOU to each and every one of you. My fellow Aussie in Mussomeli @sdgfilippa has a special place in his heart for Nepal as his children were born there. We are raising money to set up a community kitchen to prepare meals for people who have been affected by the devastating floods. We are collaborating with a team of young people from Kathmandu who are all working so hard to provide food where it is needed. I will keep you all updated on our plans.
