Today the world got a little more quieter and a lot more colder, there has been so much outpouring on Lou’s passing. I can give my words and feelings on him as he affected me as well as so many before me.

I met Lou at CBGB’s in the winter / spring of ‘86 and he told me that the band were going to play their first show in Freeport Long Island in a few weeks. I begged my cousin for us to go since he lived closer to Freeport since I lived in the city and also not of legal age to do anything, I drove him nuts and he reluctantly took me. Between Lou’s banter and just straight up aggression I was immediately hooked. As the years rolled on I just seen him and the band go through some insane shows and kept coming back for more, always would see him at CB’s and The Ritz, we always busted each others balls which Lou was a master at! 🤣

I was fortunate enough later in life to spin some of the biggest shows they have done in NYC over the last 15 years and he always loved what I spun in between sets.

He made such an impact on everyone who met him, seen him perform and just really be himself. A genuine soul that will now roam free and do what he does best, pass the energy on to the next journey. My sincerest condolences to the entire Koller clan and friends.

I don’t want to believe what I am seeing right now let alone process the news about Lou passing on, he always was a fighter and he did not give up even at the very end.

He was and still is an inspiration to generations as an individual and musician, I still always get a giggle at the times we had and we bust each others chops. Lou, you will never be forgotten. Rest in peace and my sincerest condolences to the Koller family.

Another obligatory birthday post going on here, as I made another trip around the sun this time around I have a lot of reflection as well.

My mental well being has been fluctuating severely over the last few months to the point where some things needed to drastically change, one of them was quit drinking alcohol entirely. On the other side of this I also made a decision to be more recluse and not as active with shows, dj’ing, etc. Taking responsibilities within my own life are now top priority, when it is all said and done. I’m ok being alone and just focusing on me. This is not a cry for help nor anyone taking pity, people change, friendships fade away but the only person in the end who will be there for you is yourself.

I am grateful to the few over the years that to this day I can truly call them a friend and just be there with no reciprocation.
