You are gone but will never be forgotten. You could be funny, feisty, charming, and had the biggest heart of anyone I've ever known. You were my mother, but also my friend and confidant. You always made it a point to let the people you loved know it. Not only with your words but with your actions. You made the best sugar cookies and banana bread I've ever had. Mom, I know you were in pain for many years, but you stayed because you wanted to take care of Bruce and me, and your four grandkids (Chris, Abby, Emmy and Nathan). But it was time to let us all fly on our own. You'd done your job and then some. I know I'm going on 60, but I will never stop missing you. I will never be able to fill your shoes but I will do my best to guide my children in life, using the wisdom and skills that you taught me. You can rest in peace now, knowing that you touched many lives and loved us as much as humanly possible. For that, you have earned our respect, our love, and legendary status in our family. Godspeed Gay Ellen. You've more than earned your journey back to the heavens from which you came. I love you, mom. ❤️ by @sdsmithpics
