Aya & Nicolas spent some hours of their wedding weekend at an Amsterdam favourite: Carmen, the shop and guesthouse that feels like home.

Aya knew long before getting engaged what she wanted to wear on her wedding day: Paris-based Lebanese-Palestinian label Renaissance Renaissance. Founder Cynthia Merhej is a very good friend of her.

And where better to begin their wedding day than at Carmen? Wanting to start the celebrations somewhere that felt familiar and meaningful, Aya and Nicolas chose to get ready there, surrounded by the love of their closest friends and family. A home filled with love, laughter and the people who matter most – the perfect beginning to their wedding day.

A little while ago, we received a call from Aya & Nicolas, asking us to help bring their fairytale wedding to life.

From the very first conversation, we knew there was something special. Our ideas aligned effortlessly, and together we created a wedding that felt entirely like them, set in the lush gardens of The Embassy of the Free Mind.

It was a warm summer day in June, with not a single cloud in the sky. Until the moment they said “I do”when thunder suddenly rolled across the sky.
It felt like a blessing from the universe, from Mother Nature, or perhaps simply a little bit of magic.

We’re so happy to see their beautiful story featured by Vogue and even more grateful to Aya & Nicolas for trusting us to bring their vision to life.
