Yesterday I was in Atmeh camp - Idlib a place that rarely makes headlines anymore, but carries stories that are impossible to overlook.

Walking through the narrow pathways between the tents, I was reminded that displacement is not just a situation people endure; it’s a daily reality that shapes childhoods, families, and futures.
The camp has been standing for 14 years, and with time the world’s attention has drifted elsewhere but the needs, the struggles, and the hopes of the people here have not.

I met children who spoke about their dreams with a clarity that felt larger than the space they live in. One wanted to become a doctor, another talked about returning to his village, another simply wished for a safe classroom. These aren’t just passing words.
they are the foundations of futures waiting to be built, if only the world would look their way again.

Camps like Atmeh shouldn’t be forgotten. Not because of the suffering alone, but because of the resilience, the humanity, and the unbroken spirit of the people inside. Every tent holds a story. Every family carries a memory of what they lost and a hope for what they might regain.

As someone who documents these realities, I share these images today not for sympathy, but for responsibility. It’s important that their stories remain present in our media, in our conversations, and in our collective conscience. What happens here is part of our history, and these children deserve more than silence! by @sea.child96
