For those who are new here… welcome! 🌞 Sea Together is a global women’s surf platform.

Through stories, retreats, podcasts, films, and gatherings, we explore the deeper side of surfing…the moments, people, and places that remind us why we love surfing.

A place where women can feel at home in the ocean, in their stories, and with each other. You belong here. 🌊🤍 by @sea.together

We’re excited for our first campout (not a retreat), August 28-30, in a forest campground. ☺️ Small group, 4 people, surf intensive with 1:1 coaching and video analysis. 🎥 We’re excited to help foster a safe space for sea sisters to delve into a deeper relationship with surfing and progression in our own way. 🤍 This is a more accessible offering as we don’t include programming the whole weekend but it still is built intentionally and gives you time to explore with new sea sister friends or on your own. We trust the right people are joining us. 🌊 ✨ 🏄🏽‍♀️🏄🏼‍♀️🏄🏿‍♀️🏄🏻‍♀️🏄🏾‍♀️ *Sold out*

We’re grateful to share that Breaking Softly, Sea Together founder Bri’s first surf film, will be screening at Surfalorus Film Festival in North Carolina this August. As Sea Together continues to grow, we’re excited to share more surf stories that celebrate creativity, connection, and the many ways the ocean shapes our lives. Created alongside talented friends @laurencrerarvisuals and @tabmodo , Breaking Softly is a personal reflection on healing, faith, and the unexpected lessons found through surfing after a concussion in 2023.
If you’re in North Carolina, we’d love for you to join us at the screening on Friday, August 7th at 8:00 PM and be part of this special moment with seeing other folks at the Wahine Shorts night. 🌊
Check out @surfalorus for more information and details. Thanks @surfalorus @cucalorus 🎞️

🖊️ Notes from the sea by @briandthesea

“Surfing has always been more than a collection of skills. It’s the feeling before paddling out. The laughter shared in the water. The moments of feeling one with the wave… the surf spots that shape us. The confidence from the sea that we carry back to land.”

Come check out our longer articles out on our Sea Together Substack. 🌟🌊🤍 by @sea.together

From the Archive 🌊

I wasn’t expecting to find these today: a stack of old Sea Together magazines in a friend’s office on her shelf.

When I pointed them out, she laughed and said, “You can take a few of those if you want. I don’t know why I have so many.”

I love it when I’m visiting friends and see these magazines still living in their homes 8 years later. It’s a reminder of the people who have supported Sea Together and been part of this journey around the world.

These pages hold so many stories of surfing, women surfers, places, and the connection to the ocean that brings us together.

It’s cool to be reminded of where and why we started, and all the people who have shaped this along the way.

Thank you to everyone who has been here from the beginning, and to everyone new who has joined us along the way. We’re grateful you’re here. 🌊🤍🦋
Maybe one day, we’ll bring back print. Did you know Sea Togeher when we were in print?

60+ years in the water, and still ripping and celebrating her love for the ocean and surfing. Becky Benson Jay was part of the first-ever women’s world surf tour back in 1976 and in 2024 she came back to win the ISA World Championship for her age division. 🏆🌊
“I know that the ocean is more powerful than I am, and I have that respect.”

Hear the full conversation on Apple and Spotify now, for a limited time only. It moves to our Substack permanently on Monday, the 13th. 🎧 The Sea Together Podcast 🤍

This month’s reflection have been about what spaces hold us, and how different surf lineups hold us differently.

Full essay + reflection prompts for our paid Substack members titled “July notes from the Sea by Bri: some thoughts on aloha, elders, and why you don’t have to be the strongest to belong”. 🌊(We keep our more vulnerable posts private/paid since it’s a lot to share, but we still have public posts on our substack as well. 🤍)
