Golden Hour Mearns Coyote (Canis Latrans Mearnsi): Iron County, Utah. October 16th 2026 5:45PM.

This handsome dude fell victim to my signature “Sea Jay Whistle.” I stopped him dead in his tracks. He was painfully curious, what the bizarre sound he was hearing might be! During that 2 minute moment, I was able to snag a few shots. He then continued loping along Southwest, going about his business. taken in Iron County by @seajayrowley

California Condor (Gymnogyps Californianus): Garfield County, Utah. October 8th 2026 3:45PM-8:00PM.

I’ve day dreamed about photographing California Condor for the last year, since I was gifted a 600mm TAMRON telephoto lens from my dad for my birthday. That dream became a reality yesterday.

It doesn’t happen often but yesterday was a perfect day in nature. Everything came together. Even smoke from a controlled burn nearby, contributed to some of my best shots during sunset. In my opinion, this batch of photos is my personal best work. For where I’m at with my knowledge of photography and the capabilities of my 12 year old Cannon T3i camera, this is my personal peak until I get more knowledge and more updated equipment. Enjoy! I love to share.

Through research, word of mouth and a lot of hard work, I found myself in the perfect position to photograph seven California Condor, above the 80ft Ponderosa Pine Tree snag they were roosting in for the night. I spent four hours with them. Including a magical Golden Hour rainstorm. It is a night I will never forget. God’s Hand is visible if we take the time to look for it and His energy is felt if we stand still long enough to commune with it. Get out there!

Interesting Facts: California Condor are the largest birds in North America, standing 4ft tall and with an astounding nearly 10ft wingspan! They can weigh up to 25lb. Once hatched they live and learn from their parents for up to one year. Their eyesight is phenomenal and that is what they use to hone in on their next meal. They are capable of consuming 4lb of carrion in a single meal. They are very long lived and have been known to live up to 60 years in the wild! They are capable of flying at 15,000ft for up to 200 miles in a single day! California Condor are a wildlife conservation success story. From only 22 individual animals in 1982, on the entire planet, to nearly 350 in the wild today, it is such a win for Mother Nature! Long live the United States Condor! Such a unique and special bird species and an undeniably peculiar yet oddly beautiful looking flying Dinosaur! taken in Wilderness by @seajayrowley

Large/Tall 4x4 Mule Deer Buck (Odocoileus Hemionus) Bulldog Road, Cedar City Iron County, Utah. October 7th 2026 5:15PM.

While looking for a Kingfisher bird I had seen yesterday, I walked by a modest clump of Willow trees, in a small wash. To my absolute amazement and total shock (I nearly crapped my pants!! 💩 👖), I heard an earthshaking thunder of snapping tree branches and crumpled confusion and this Bruiser of a Buck tore off and out towards the road! I chased after him full of hope, while hopping two barbed wire fences, with my huge camera/lens slung over my shoulder and my hat flying off! He finally stopped on the edge of a hayfield and I was able to get a few decent shots. A Wild and Exhilarating experience and a huge adrenaline rush to be sure! I wasn’t anticipating photographing one of the largest Bucks I have ever seen in my life, right in the middle of town but I couldn’t be more pleased! taken in Cedar City, Utah by @seajayrowley
