Sometimes it really does take a village 🔩🛠️

These exhaust systems can weigh hundreds of pounds, and getting them in or out of a boat is never as simple as it looks. Tight spaces, unforgiving metal, slipping hands, a few cuts along the way… all while making sure you don’t chip the teak or damage anything around you.

It’s heavy, awkward work, and every extra set of hands makes a difference.

Always appreciate the crew and everyone onboard willing to jump in and help us get the job done. taken in Metcalf Marine Exhaust, Inc. by @sealioncaptain

A few weeks ago, while transiting the Bonifacio Strait, we crossed paths with the French Navy’s nuclear-powered aircraft carrier Charles de Gaulle (R91) and observed one of the oldest customs at sea by dipping our Ensign in salute.

It's a tradition that even we rarely get to experience, and one that many people have never heard of.

Have you seen this maritime tradition before? 👇

James is going to walk us through an onboard test fit, piece by piece, for a large superyacht exhaust system like this one.

When we rebuild systems of this size, it becomes a massive jigsaw puzzle sometimes more like a game of Tetris inside the engine room.

It’s not just about fabricating the metal. It requires constant communication with the crew and other contractors, while making sure every section is aligned exactly as it should be.

In these spaces, there is no room for error. Precision is everything.
