You can measure your heart rate, sleep, and blood sugar… but until now, you couldn’t quantify how well your cells make energy at the mitochondrial level.

To dig into this, I hosted @Sean.Fetcho—CEO and co-founder of Verséa Health, the company behind the new mescreen™ mitochondrial function test—and @DrLuisFandos.AlluringAge, an interventional pain specialist who’s using this testing to transform how he treats his patients.

These guys are pioneering a new kind of personalized health—one that looks beneath the surface data from your smartwatch and dives straight into what’s happening inside your cells.

We discuss:

🧬 How mitochondrial function drives your energy, recovery, and longevity.
💡 Why you inherit mitochondrial DNA from your mother—and how lifestyle determines how it performs.
🩸 What the mescreen™ test reveals about whether your supplements, diet, and training are truly working.
📊 Why this data provides a more stable, accurate snapshot than biomarkers that fluctuate daily.
🚀 How NASA’s Twin Study and UC San Diego research led to this breakthrough technology.
🔋 What your “mitochondrial potential” means for balancing stress, inflammation, and peak performance.

This is the kind of innovation I’ve been waiting for—bringing mitochondrial science out of the lab and your own home, where you can finally measure, track, and optimize your cellular energy.

Meet Monty.

Like every living thing on this planet, he runs on mitochondria. So do you.

Mitochondria are the reason any of us have energy at all. They power how you move, how you recover, how you think, and how well you function day to day. When mitochondrial function declines, your energy declines with it, that’s the whole story behind aging, fatigue, and burnout.

Understanding your own mitochondrial health is the clearest window into your energy and your function, at any age.

Measure your own mitochondrial function. Get your mescreen™ test at the link in bio.

Our CEO and Founder, @sean.fetcho, took the stage at @ACTAIGlobal in Bali this summer to talk about one of the most overlooked levers in aging: your mitochondria.

Swipe through for a few of the biggest takeaways from his talk.

Curious what your own mitochondria are doing? Link in bio to get your mescreen™ test.

A lot of people picture “advanced testing technology” as something that requires a lab, a needle, and a waiting room.

Here, @sean.fetcho, mescreen’s™ Co-Founder and CEO, shows what taking a real mescreen™ test actually looks like, a simple finger prick, a few drops of blood on a collection card, and about 20 minutes of drying time.

That’s it.

No prescription, no appointment, no lab visit.

The card separates your serum, which is what actually gets analyzed to build your personalized mescore™.

It’s proof that measuring something as complex as your cellular health doesn’t have to be complicated to access.

Last month I went on a two day camping trip with my son. No phone. No meetings. No optimization protocol of any kind.

And I felt better at the end of those two days than I have after any biohack I have ever tried.

There is real science behind why this happens. Natural environments reduce cortisol within minutes. Removing digital stimulation activates the parasympathetic nervous system. Genuine presence and rest accelerate the cellular repair processes that chronic stress constantly interrupts.

But honestly I did not need the science to feel it. I just needed to be there.

We talk so much in the health and wellness space about what to add. What to take. What protocol to layer on. And sometimes the most powerful thing you can do is subtract. Less input.

More presence. Real rest with the people who matter most.

My son did not teach me anything about biohacking this weekend. He reminded me what health is actually for. by @sean.fetcho

I have sat across from some of the most successful founders in the world and I will tell you something that surprises most people.

The higher someone has climbed the worse their cellular health tends to be.

Not because they do not care. Because they have spent years treating their health as something to get back to later. Later after the raise. Later after the launch. Later after the exit.

And later never comes. The body does not wait for your calendar to clear.

What chronic founder stress actually does at the cellular level is not theoretical. Elevated cortisol suppresses mitochondrial energy production. Poor sleep accelerates cellular aging.

The cognitive decline that comes from years of sustained high stress does not announce itself. It accumulates quietly until one day your performance is not what it used to be and you cannot figure out why.

I built a company designed to help people understand what is happening inside their cells. And I was one of the worst offenders for years.

The shift that changed everything for me was treating my health not as a personal matter but as the most important business decision I make every single day. Everything else runs downstream from that.

I was sitting down at @dave.asprey’s @beyondbiohackingconference in Austin and this came up in conversation and I think it is one of the most important things people need to hear.

Feeling good is not data.

You cannot feel your cholesterol. You cannot feel your mitochondria deteriorating. You cannot feel the difference between thriving at the cellular level and slowly declining. Your body does not send you those signals clearly or consistently enough to rely on.

And yet the entire wellness industry is built around how things make you feel.

That is the gap. The aesthetics movement is exploding right now. People are spending more than ever on how they look on the outside. And there is nothing wrong with that. But it is only half the picture.

Two of the populations we consistently see score poorly on cellular health assessments are professional athletes and entrepreneurs. The people you would least expect. Because overtraining and chronic stress do not show up on the outside.

They show up in the cells.

The outside and the inside are not the same conversation. It is time to start having both. by @sean.fetcho

There is a reason certain people leave a mark that outlasts them by decades.

It is not just talent. It is alignment. When what you believe, how you live, and what you create are all pointing in the same direction something different happens.

Bob Marley had that. And standing in the place where he lived and worked made it impossible not to feel it.

The wellness industry talks a lot about optimization. Protocols. Supplements. Biomarkers. And all of that has its place.

But the people who actually change things are the ones who understand that health is not a metric. It is a way of moving through the world. With purpose. With presence. With something bigger than yourself driving the work.

That is not something you measure. But you know it when you are standing in the middle of it. by @sean.fetcho

1. You inherit your mitochondrial DNA exclusively from your mother. Not your father. Your maternal line determines your cellular energy blueprint going back generations.

2. Every chronic disease on the planet is tied to mitochondria. Alzheimer’s. Parkinson’s. Cancer. Diabetes. Heart disease. Fatigue. All of it connects back to what is happening at the cellular level.

3. Every cell in your body contains mitochondria except red blood cells. Every organ system. Every species on the planet. Mitochondria date back billions of years. The reason humans exist today is because of them.

4. Your heart is made up of upwards of 40% mitochondria right now as you read this. Muscle tissue and neurons have the highest concentrations in the body.

5. At the cellular level mitochondria decide whether a cell lives, dies, or replicates. They are not just the battery. They are the decision maker.

This is why understanding your mitochondrial health and wellness is not a biohacking trend. It is the most fundamental data point you can have about your biology. by @sean.fetcho
