Ugh- You don’t want this to happen to you.

🚨Buyers: You never know who’s listening during a home tour.

Many homes have Ring cameras, indoor cameras, or other recording devices—so buyers should treat every showing like the seller could hear the conversation.

Here are a few things you don’t want to say out loud while touring a house:

🚫 “THIS IS THE ONE.”

If the sellers know you’re emotionally attached, negotiating can become much harder.

🚫 “We’re pre-approved for $850K.”
If the home is listed below that amount, you may have just revealed your ceiling.

🚫 “This house is so much nicer than everything else we’ve seen.”

That can signal you may be willing to stretch beyond what the market supports.

🚫 “Let’s offer under asking and ask for closing costs.”

Never reveal your offer strategy before your agent has had a chance to negotiate.

The best move? Keep your thoughts, excitement, concerns, and negotiation strategy for the car ride afterward—or call/text your agent privately. 🏡
