Belated graduation post! 🎓 Finally getting around to sharing my graduation at the Royal College of Music, after completing my Master's degree in Composition for Screen and passing with Distinction!

It was once my dream to study piano here years ago, but life had a different path in store for me that still led me back to this place; allowing for opportunities to express myself through piano, concert music and composition for screen. This has been shared with all the wonderful musicians, classmates and friends for life that I have made since starting my time here in Sept 2023.

I also had the great privilege of running the RCM Film Scoring Society alongside my incredible team members, @stephen.j.bradley and @phoebegreenland. Together, we welcomed a host of inspiring industry guests for Q&A sessions, with one of the definite highlights for me being the opportunity to host and interview the legendary composer Alan Silvestri.

Thank you to everyone who has supported me along the way, especially my friends and family, who have been a bedrock to me through so many ups and downs over the years, but have always helped push me forward.

Thanks also to all the amazing musicians who have contributed their time and talent to so many projects and recordings, as well as to many of the filmmakers I have collaborated with. Many minutes of music has been written, films scored, performances made and parts prepared, printed & taped!

Thanks to Mark Bowden and Alison Kay for their supportive lessons in Composition, as well as to Kathron Sturrock for giving me that experience in studying Piano here and the many joyful lessons we had.

Finally, to the wonderful staff at the Royal College of Music, and to my personal tutors; @filipsijanec, @mike_ladouceur, @enricasciandrone & @dimitriscarlato - thank you for all your support, encouragement, words of wisdom and guidance.

Special thanks to Dimitri Scarlato (as Area Leader) for creating such a wonderful dept here, filled with many opportunities and talented students. Long may it thrive and continue!

Last session of the year earlier this week, recording some original soundtracks with fellow composer, Robert IJserinkhuijsen at Belle Shenkman Studio, Royal College of Music! 🎶

Thanks so much to the studio engineers, composer @subhangnarasimhan for his immense help in printing & taping parts; as well as all the amazing players for their collaboration on this and many projects over the last few years. It has always been a highlight of our time here to work with the exceptional talent of live players and staff at RCM, as well as gain personal experience in conducting and recording sessions.

Last week we had the great opportunity to showcase some of our works with a live music screening event, as part of the Composition for Screen Showcase at @rcmlondon. A chance also to catch up with many friends & colleagues.

A huge thank you to all the incredible string players involved in my piece, including soloist, @eva.victoria.schockmel on Classical Guitar, as well as Conductor @benjaminconducts 👏👏👏

Thanks also to our course leader @dimitriscarlato for the opportunity, as well as for an insightful q&a with composer @anne.j_dudley.

Last week I had the incredible experience to premiere a new song of mine, "Fruits of Knowledge" and see the culmination of our efforts come together during the Composers & Poets Forum at @leedscitymuseum - collaborating with many creatives and performers, including: words by poet @timboardmanpoet, painting by artist @nhn_sym and the incredible voice of @carleigh.ross.soprano.

Thanks so much to Hannah Stone, Martin Iddon, Madeleine Middleton & @josephmittelstadt for their generous support throughout and organising such a wonderful event and festival @leedssong.

Special thanks to @carleigh.ross.soprano for stepping in at such short notice (with myself on piano), being such a pleasure to work with and delivering such a beautiful performance! 👏

Last week, I had the incredible opportunity to record one of my orchestral pieces as part of the Composition for Screen Orchestral Workshop at the Royal College of Music. Here's a little teaser / excerpt from the piece "Fallen Angels: The Grand Finale."

"Imbas Forosnai” — my hand-drawn short, has been officially selected for the @folkestonefilmfest and @romeprismafilmawards.

This film started as a quiet dream — a love letter to Scotland, its myths, languages, and gentle stories that heal.
Now it will meet the audience for the first time — I’ll be at the Folkestone premiere and Q&A 2 November, at Stella Gallery.

I’m endlessly grateful to everyone who helped me bring this story to life — for your faith, warmth and light. 🌿
It means the world to see this film begin its journey across the real world 🌌

Some great shots taken from one of the Contemporary Music in Action, Future Perfect concert series, 1st May 2025 @rcmlondon! I had the great opportunity to premiere two new pieces of mine based on scenes from Dante's Inferno, as well as perform piano alongside these amazing singers @francisbamford_countertenor & @siansulke.
