Two jerseys. Countless memories.

Two of the most cherished pieces in my collection, both signed earlier this year at @leblanq.tour by a British National Champion and Tour de France yellow jersey wearer — the one and only @seanyatescoach 🇬🇧🔥

As a kid, I watched Sean race religiously. He was one of the riders who made me fall in love with the sport, and to this day, he’ll always be one of the greats in my eyes.

To have these jerseys signed by someone I looked up to as a youngster makes them even more special and seeing Sean still out there riding today? Absolutely brilliant. 🙌

Legends never fade. They just keep on riding. 👊

Who were the riders you looked up to growing up? 👇

When @seanyatescoach looks back on his years alongside Lance Armstrong, the racing is only part of the story.

There was waterskiing on the Colorado River and there were Harleys on the open road, and through it all a friendship that flourished far from the finish line. Sean tells all in his Joyrider's Journey.

Joyrider’s Journey Episode 10 with @seanyatescoach is live on our YouTube channel. Click the bio link to watch it now!

This is the story of a “bloody kid out of Sussex” rubbing shoulders with giants of the sport like Laurent Fignon, Lance Armstrong and Bernard Hinault whilst carving out one of the most iconic legacies in British cycling history.

Sean shares the wild, unfiltered stories that made him a true legend, from sneaking out of race hotels in the dead of night to sign contracts on scraps of paper, to proving wrong the doubters who claimed he “couldn’t climb over a motorway bridge”. Fast forward to 1994, and he’s flying at the front of the longest stage of the Tour de France to tear through the field and snatch the legendary yellow jersey.

Packed with raw grit, unbelievable moments and proper old-school cycling nostalgia, this is a look back at an incredible career you won’t want to miss. by @seanyatescoach

10 years ago on the Vuelta me and @stevendejongh went for a ride on the rest day in the Castellon area. It was then I decided to move here. Not regretted it for a moment. Today we met up for a #dawnpatrol ride. I can report he is not getting any slower and I am not getting any faster. But it’s all about the commitment 👊 #keepthefaithnowandalways taken in Benicasim by @seanyatescoach

This is our 1988 TT Strava challenge on the Isle of Wight, a permanent segment where you can test yourself on one of the UK's most beautiful stretches of road!

In 1988, Sean Yates set the fastest ever Tour de France time trial without tri bars, and completed the fastest ever lap of the Isle of Wight, a record that held for more than 30 years. This year, new signposts along the Military Road were installed to mark both achievements, and now it's your turn to test your legs and do Sean proud! by @seanyatescoach

@seanyatescoach aka ‘The Animal’ as he was known during his racing days, attended the @leblanq.tour Joyride Festival in the Isle of Wight last weekend and took time out for me to have a chat with him. We spoke about his career, jerseys amongst other things.

From me it was particularly special, as Sean was a hero of mine and having him sign two of the team jerseys and also one of the prints I've done of him, was a dream come true.

It was also amazing to see how the Isle of Wight has also honoured him on the Military Road, for his Time Trial back in 1988.

Sean has still got it when it come to cycling, riding strong as always and it was also great to see him spending the weekend with his lovely sons @liamyates and @jesseyates_ who are both exceptionally great riders, just like their dad.

What are your favourite memories of Sean and his career?
