🎬 Meet Georg, our editor in action! Georg has a remarkable sensitivity and talent in authentic audiovisual storytelling. 🎞️

Beyond his year-long role as our lead editor (e.g @seaofshadows), Georg has become a great friend and the kind of guy you want to hang out with after work. 🍻

Here’s to the magic he brings to every project! 🌟

Every day when we walk into the edit, we are greeted by our main character’s’powerful gaze. A beautiful photo taken by the talented @evelyn_lynam_ruiz and given to me for my 50th birthday 🥳
Juma Xipaia looking over our shoulder is a constant reminder that the stakes are high and the fight for the Amazon is far from over.
I’m so happy to be working again with @seaofshadows editor Georg M. Fischer. While we will soon head back to the Amazon rainforest, Georg will take the steering wheel and start putting together a journey that now has lasted over three years. Couldn’t be more excited. by @seaofshadows

Posted @withregram • @rumahoney Marine biologist and vaquita champion, Paco Valverde, needs help. This amazing soul and front line wildlife hero has been rushed to hospital with severe covid-19 symptoms. Paco is on a respirator and in serious condition.

Paco's family were featured characters in the @natgeodocs feature documentary @seaofshadows from director @richardladkani and Executive Producer @leonardodicaprio. Paco was a critical part of the impact campaign I had the privilege to run and was with us in Mexico City to present the film and the crisis to the Mexican Senate and international press.

The Valverdes have been on the front lines of the battle for the Sea of Cortez for decades, standing up to illegal fishermen and cartels - their own neighbors and community - long before we showed up to make a film about it. They've been threatened, intimidated and knocked down so many times, and yet they have remained stalwart champions of what is right over what is easy. And certainly over what is profitable.

Paco is widely loved by the @seashepherd Operation Milagro team, by @nmmfoundation, the wildlife crime team at @earthleagueint and so many others. If you can help in even a small way to alleviate the immense financial burden on Paco's family at this terrible time, please check out the Go Fund Me link in my bio.❤️

So incredibly proud of the entire team. A Peabody nomination...WE did this 😀
The Situation in Mexico is still very bad. Due to the pandemic, law enforcement is virtually nonexistent and the cartel has taken over. Even Sea Shepherd had to remove their ships as the ports were closed for refueling. We hope for the Vaquita, that not all is lost by the time the covid-19 crisis is over. @seaofshadows is still airing around the globe. In German speaking Europe it just aired last week. Please watch via VOD and see what happens when criminals attack our planet for money and greed. by @seaofshadows

Very proud for Sea Of Shadows to win the @cinemaforpeace award last night in Berlin. We hope that people around the world keep rooting for endangered species, that are being exploited by criminals for money and greed. The fight for the Vaquita is a symbol of what is happening around the world to nature and our environment. Thank you @natgeodocs, @terramater, @malaika.pictures and the entire amazing team that helped so much to make this film a reality. We dedicate this award to the many heroes fighting on the frontlines to save the Sea Of Cortez. by @seaofshadows

#Repost @seashepherdsscs:
Operation Milagro is Sea Shepherd's campaign to save the vaquita and prevent the extinction of a species, but many other lives have also been saved along the way.

Even the tiniest of animals face threats from illegal gillnets, and the crew of the @MVFarleyMowat work valiantly to try to save them all. These are just a few of our grateful clients!

Please donate to our life saving efforts at the link in our bio.

#SeaofShadows director @RichardLadkani spoke with @adventurepodcast' @charlesthorp about exposing the cartels that are destroying the Sea Of Cortez, and what it felt like capturing the first footage of a vaquita porpoise. Listen via @applepodcasts or @spotify! by @seaofshadows

Watch!!! As the war for the Sea of Cortez documented in #SeaofShadows reaches its peak, the cartels have become more emboldened than ever. Over 80 skiffs swarmed the shores of San Felipe, Baja California yesterday, encircling and capturing at least 500 totoaba a mere stone's throw away from the Zero Tolerance Area, where the last vaquitas are holding on to dear life. This happened in broad daylight, in front of the Navy and federal inspectors, who were overpowered by the sheer number of fishermen and watched from the sidelines.
The heroes of the @seashepherdsscs , who provided us with this footage, are doing everything they can to protect the species, and have already removed 141 kilometers of nets and longlines from the area this year. But, as outlined in @earthleagueint’s detailed report, there's only so much that can be done on the front lines. To save the vaquita we need to take down the Chinese traffickers in Tijuana who are financing this war and profiting in the millions. If the Mexican government does not cut off the supply chain to China the war to save the Vaquita will be lost!
