I can’t believe I’m going to Marry my best friend. I’ve become a better man because of you. The person you’re meant to be with could be right in front of you, but you have to open your heart and allow that love to happen. For so long I was closed off, but I met you. I remember my mom asking if I was seeing anyone, and I said no, and she told me “son, love is all around you, you just need to open up your heart and allow yourself to be loved.” The very next time I saw you I decided to open up, be vulnerable, and share how I felt . It was the smartest and best decision I’ve ever made in my life. We both have great strengths and we help each other with our weaknesses. We’ve grown in the best ways together, and have become stronger through hard times. I think we make a pretty good team. I love our adventures, last year we saw @kaytranada live and it was such a great experience that we had together, (you became a fan after that. Lol) I remember you asking me, “what would be our song?” At the time I couldn’t answer, but one day we were listening to this song and we both already knew the words and would always dance and sing it together, and it hit me. “I think this is our song.” She replied “really, I was thinking of something more romantic.” Lol then I said “this song gave us an unforgettable memory that we still talk about every time we listen to it” “if this isn’t our song, then I don’t know what is.” A month or two after that conversation I proposed in Catalina, and the morning after returning home we went to a restaurant for breakfast and guess what was playing?…. Yes you guessed right, OUR SONG!! If that’s not a sign from the universe then I don’t know what is. (Also when taking our engagement photos this falcon landed right behind us!) It felt like everything around us was confirming our love for each other, and celebrating with us. I’ll forever love you and protect you, be that shoulder to cry on, be that person to laugh with, have a family and grow old together. I’ve always wanted that for us, and this is me showing you that I’m committed to a lifelong adventure with you. To my best friend in the whole wide world @meowitsmaya by @searchingfindingwanting
