Consulting for AI, automation, and search. Giving real users the confidence and know-how to adapt to where technology is headed.
POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED
Some read "Claude is free for teachers" as a nice classroom story. If you run a service business, read it as a signal. A giveaway that big does three things at once: sets the habit early with a generation of users, gathers real usage data before pricing, and drags the public's sense of what AI costs toward zero. The move for you isn't to watch. It's to find a free window that already applies to you (a trial, a nonprofit rate, a seat bundled in a plan you pay for) and run one real task through it this month. Measure whether it saved an hour. Then test on the free window, but keep core work on a plan you control. Free-for-now is not free-forever. Questions? Book a free coaching call. Chances are, you already have an AI tool you can rely on, what you really need is for it to be integrated into the applications you currently utilize.

That's the essence of the approach. Transform a search CSV into a list of gaps. Convert a meeting transcript into a list of actionable tasks. Organize fragmented data into a coherent internal procedure or derive insights that can drive actions.

However, we adhere to one unwavering principle: no data export means no responses. If the model lacks access to the actual data, it resorts to making assumptions, and a misplaced confidence in those assumptions is far worse than providing no response whatsoever.

Here’s our process: your primary model generates drafts and interprets information. A human oversees the publication. We never automate the final dispatch, as that particular step carries the risk of errors that could be costly.

Integrate the tools you trust. Provide authentic data. Ensure a human remains in control of the send process. This is what distinguishes effective AI from that which might lead to embarrassment.

Search traffic is drying up, and most owners think they have a ranking problem. They don't.

Here's what actually changed: AI now answers the question right on the results page. The person gets what they need and never clicks through. Close to seven in ten US searches now end with zero visits to any website.

Chasing that lost click is the wrong fight. The new goal is getting your business named inside the answer the AI hands over. When a brand gets cited in those answers, it pulls roughly a third more clicks than a brand that ranks the old way but never gets mentioned.

Three things that help AI pick you:

-Put real numbers in your content instead of vague claims.
-Link to where your facts come from.
-Quote an actual expert by name, not an anonymous "industry source."

Do those, then go check whether your name is turning up in AI search results for what you do. If it isn't, that gap is exactly what we fix.

Your content isn't the problem. AI search can't read it.

Most service businesses are missing from ChatGPT and Google AI Overviews, and it's not because of what they wrote. It's because nothing in their code tells AI systems who they are. Schema fixes that faster than any other tactic.

Here's the order I ship it in. First three earn the citation: LocalBusiness plus Organization answers "is this real," Service tells AI what you offer and for whom, and FAQ is the fastest win because AI Overviews pull that format more than any other. Then layer in Review plus AggregateRating and HowTo plus Article to defend the citation once the basics are solid.

Do this much this week: run Google's Rich Results Test on your homepage, add LocalBusiness schema if you have none, and write 3 FAQs for your top service page.

Save this. It's the reference list for when you're ready to implement.

We wanted our own place to manage our agents, so we're building one Three tools read the same folders: a CLI status board, a kanban that writes real .md files from the browser, a dashboard that shows which agents are live right now. No database under any of it. The folders ARE the database. Any tool that can read a folder can read my whole task list.

Day one of our project follow-along. Come with us as we build our very own agent dashboard for daily use.

AI agents can be intimidating to actually find an easy use-case for, and can pile up fast once you do. Prompts, workspaces, notes, tasks, all scattered across folders we dig through every time. So we're building our own command center to sit on top of it.

Auto-Phil helps clients navigate the AI landscape and we've found that agents can be overwhelming. We're trying to turn down the noise by making this dashboard a quiet and simple place to work.

This is session one. Just the bones so far, a dashboard that finally puts everything in one place instead of twelve folders deep.

We're documenting the whole thing as we go, start to finish. Follow along to watch a rough idea turn into a tool we use every day.

The new site is live, and we put every playbook on it. Free.

No gate, no email wall. We mapped them to where you are right now:
Open the one that matches your week. Prompts you can copy, the tool comparisons nobody else will give you straight, and the teardowns that show what to automate, what to hire for, and what to leave alone.

The whole point is the same as our coaching calls: we tell you what to skip. The resources do that for free, on your own time.

Pick your phase, and grab what is useful. When you want a human to point at the three things that move your needle, the free coaching call is one click further. The Auto-Phil team is here to help you navigate the world of AI while keeping the human touch.

Four Claude Code commands worth memorizing before your next session.

Field Guide, Claude Code edition. Keep these four on a sticky note:

/goal sets one target and the agent keeps it in view every turn, instead of wandering off mid-task.

/ultraplan sends parallel agents to draft the plan before any code, so you sign off on the approach early.

/agents builds specialist subagents that each own a slice of the work in their own context.

/ultrareview runs a deep multi-agent review of your branch in the cloud before you merge.

Type the slash, let the agents do the work. Most of the speed people credit to AI coding comes from knowing which command to reach for.

Auto-Phil helps business get the most out of their AI tools.

Most people use Claude and Gemini in a separate tab. That's fine for thinking. It's not where the browser plugins earn their keep.

Claude for Chrome and Gemini in Chrome do something the chat window can't. They sit inside the page you're already on. They read what's loaded behind your login. They click the buttons. They fill the forms.

The unlock is everything that lives behind an auth wall. Your CRM. Your booking software. Your insurance back office. Your shop management system. The chat window can't see any of it. The plugin can.

Claude for Chrome leans toward acting in the tab. Reading what's open, filling repetitive forms, moving through a multi-step workflow you'd normally do by hand.

Gemini in Chrome leans toward your stuff. Pulling context from Gmail, Docs, and Drive without you copying and pasting. Cross-tab awareness so the question can reference what's on screen.

If you keep bouncing between a chat tab and your real work, the plugin is the missing piece. Try one on the next task where the answer lives behind a login.

DM "plugin" if you want a one-page rundown of which plugin fits which workflow.

AI search and local search are reading two different internets.

When someone Googles "best barber near me," the answer gets built from Map Pack listings, Google Business profiles, and review sites. The directory shelf.

When that same person asks ChatGPT or Perplexity the same question, the answer gets built from Reddit threads, forum posts, and plain-text guides written like a human talking. The conversation shelf.

Same query. Same customer. Two totally different sources getting pulled.

Most small business owners are still optimizing for one shelf and assuming it covers both. It doesn't. If your business doesn't exist on the conversation shelf, you're invisible to the half of people who now ask the bots first.

This is the mental model behind the AEO Recon series. Every city and vertical run we publish is built on this split.

DM "shelves" if you want a quick read on which one your business is missing.

The onboarding doc your senior person was never going to write.

Claude Code shipped a slash command last month called /team-onboarding. It does something almost no other tool does: it reads how you actually use the tool, then writes the ramp-up guide for the next person on your team.

Not a generic walkthrough. Not the README. The real version. The commands you run, the order you run them in, the shortcuts that live in one person's head.

Run it inside a project you've already worked in for a while. It asks three short questions, then hands you a markdown file. Your new hire pastes that file as their first message. They start on day one with the same shortcuts you took six months to figure out.

The catch: it needs real history to work from. If you just opened the project yesterday, the doc will be thin. Run it from the project where the work actually lives.

If you've hired before and watched someone wait two weeks for the answer to "wait, how do we usually do this?", this is the fix that costs you three words.

Try it this week. Send me what came back.

Insights from our AEO-Recon Agent for Financial Advisors.

Google AI Mode doesn't search for your firm. It checks who NAPFA says exists.

AEO Recon No. 01. We ran six Philadelphia fee-only financial planner queries through Google AI Mode on 2026-05-18 and the answer set was almost identical every time.

NAPFA got cited in all six. FeeOnlyNetwork in five. AI Mode treats them as the trust spine for the entire category. If your firm isn't on at least one of them, you don't exist to the model. A handful of firms also got named: PIP Wealth, Waverly Advisors, Livelihood. Same pattern in each one. A Philadelphia-specific URL on their own domain that mirrors the exact phrasing of the query, and a sentence the model can lift word for word.

Three moves any Philly fiduciary can copy this week.

One. Get on NAPFA and FeeOnlyNetwork. Fill out every Specialty field and your fee structure in full. Highest-leverage 30 minutes of the quarter.

Two. Own a Philadelphia URL that names the intent. /fee-only-financial-advisor-philadelphia, not /wealth-management. The slug is doing real work.

Three. Name the products you refuse to sell on a public page. Annuities. Whole life. Load funds. The model quotes you back when you do.

Save this for the next time someone asks why their firm is invisible to AI search. DM the Auto-Phil team @searchsquirrel or visit www.auto-phil.com to take the next step towards AI visibility.
