In Montauk: Sea Roost, a private two-cottage property holding some of the last original fisherman cottages at Hither Hills, built in the 1940s when this end of Montauk belonged to the fleet. It sits on a lush knoll south of the highway, steps from Hither Hills Beach, which stays quiet even in August.

The main cottage runs two bedrooms and two baths; a separate artist studio adds a queen, a kitchenette and a full bath. Dogs negotiable.

Available to book by the night. Comment SEAROOST to get the full listing, or visit the link in our bio. taken in Montauk, NY by @searoosts

There’s a moment at Sea Roost when you realize you’ve stopped arriving—and started settling.

The driveway curves, the trees close in, and the outside world softens into something quieter. The ocean lingers nearby, not in view, but in rhythm. You feel it more than you see it.

And then there’s the bathtub.

Set on the deck, open to the air, it’s less an amenity and more a ritual. Mornings with birds overhead. Evenings with salt in the breeze. Time stretches differently here—unstructured, unhurried, yours.

Sea Roost is a two-bedroom home in Montauk, shaped by memory and restraint. Owned by Matt Albiani and Ron Brand, it reflects a version of Montauk that existed long before itineraries and algorithms—where days unfold slowly, and the idea of “doing nothing” feels complete.

The interiors follow suit. Collected, not curated. Familiar, not performative. A home that doesn’t ask for attention, but quietly earns it.

A place to roost, in every sense of the word.
Available for 30-day stay minimums, for those who want more than a weekend.

Sea Roost isn’t just a house — it’s a home, part of a small compound, shaped by care, intention, and a love for New England’s classic fisherman’s style. The driveway curves inward, away from the road, and the pace shifts almost immediately. Trees close in, creating a quiet enclosure. The ocean is nearby — felt more than seen — steady and familiar.

A geranium on the windowsill, a well-worn coat hook, and paintings on the wall form small vignettes that immediately make the space feel personal and welcoming. The rooms are collected, not curated. Materials are honest, lived-in, and effortless. Light spills in, corners are sprinkled with art and curiosities, and the kitchen clearly sees life — sun on the counters, mugs at the ready, shelves filled with things that matter.

Owned by Matt Albiani and Ron Brand, Sea Roost reflects a way of being in Montauk that values tradition over trend. It’s personal, intentional, and undeniably warm — a Montauk retreat that feels like it’s always been part of the landscape, yet perfectly yours for the moment.

Sea Roost is available for direct stays — contact Matt & Ron through their website to book.
