A little while back I had the chance to work on @katielucydeacon collaboration with @bleubird.co and @seasonstribe

Watching this back feels a little different now.

After recently swapping the Welsh mountains for the Cornish coast, it reminds me that while we move on, some places never really leave us. They become part of the way we see the world, quietly shaping the memories we carry and the ones we’re still yet to make.

It felt like the right time to finally share this little film.

Tiny production decisions. These decisions are small changes which make the world of difference when it comes to UGC and other content material.

- Waiting for clouds to block the sun
- Turned the product by 15 degrees
- Stopped directing and controlling the subject
- Keeping mistakes. Some can make the Final Cut
- Taking one step left or one step right
- Doing a 'rehearsal'
- Using reflection
- Raising the camera / lowering the camera
- Simplifying the frame, what is your focus?
- Waiting for the wind to calm down
- Embracing the authenticity of moving shots
- Placing on music

We could keep going.. but you get the gist! A great production includes thoughtful micro-decisions. Light, movement, timing, angles, they all work together.

So it’s been a minute since we last posted but we’re back, kickstarting with some news!

We have a new face joining the team. Rudi will be coming onboard Seasons, working closely with me to develop new opportunities, get involved in projects, general admin and growing the business. Rudi and I have worked together both in front and behind the camera for the past 5 years, working with brands such as Bentley, Stance, Nike, Osprey, BMW, Vodaphone, Head, Nokia and many many more, so we’re ready to get stuck in! 📸🎞️

I started Seasons Tribe just shy of 6 years ago now with the passion and intentions to turn it into an outdoor, adrenaline focused production and marketing agency. Over those 6 years I have worked with some incredible and loyal brands, athletes, creators and models and although we will still be focusing on that niche, we are opening our services now to a broader audience, not just outdoors.

Through our new ‘build a burger’ approach, this allows you to build exactly what you need for your business and get rid of the unnecessary sides. Our services at Seasons include:

~ Shoot productions
~ UGC management (Gathering authentic content working with sporting, genuine outdoor goers and athletes)
~ Adrenaline days (to get you involved!)

Relating to Case Kenny recently has never been so easy!

This industry can feel pretty tough at times, tackling not only the oversaturated market but the forever changing algorithms, trends and chasing the 'next biggest thing' to stand out. Sometimes it’s easy to forget why we actually started and for the majority of us on here, it’s because we loved creating and being a part of that community, hyping each other up. Don’t forget the roots, they’re important 🍃

I’m sure many of you have come across a few of these before! Having worked in front and behind the camera for 12 years, here’s a few favourites 🙃

1. Because hiring a photographer isn’t the same as a producer - Yes, they can perform the same roles but when one person is expected to do it all, chaos and stress begins and something will likely slip. Quality thrives when roles are respected.

2. Because doing something fast and cheap will rarely be good quality - If the budget is tiny and the deadline is tomorrow, something has to give. Don’t expect all the bells and whistles.

3. Because 'exposure' doesn’t pay the crew - You can’t pay rent with social tags. The only time this works is building up portfolios or it’s guaranteed to be beneficial.

4. Because Talent and Models aren’t there to guess your shots - We’re all in this together, let them see a story or moodboard. It’s great the rest of the crew knowing but they aren’t the ones trying to show your energy, product and service off in front of the camera.

Although these are things picked up along the way, i’m honestly so grateful for all the amazing brands, people, creatives, models, talent and crew I’ve worked with along the way.
