Fifteen minutes from Arlington, you can captain a 1950s boat down the Washington Channel at a top speed of four miles an hour, snacks and champagne in hand 🚤

We spent an evening on the water with Sea Suite Retro Boat Rentals at The Wharf, and our boat was a red 1950s Wizard runabout named Gladys, chrome details, little fins, the whole vintage look, quietly retrofitted with an electric motor so it’s silent as you drift.

Here’s what makes it such a good one:
▫️ It fits up to four people, so it’s perfect for a date or a double date
▫️ It’s fully BYOB (beer, wine, champagne, seltzers, no hard liquor, and the driver stays dry)
▫️ You get a quick tutorial at the dock, no boating experience needed
▫️ It only goes about four miles an hour, so it’s slow, easy, and made for talking to each other
▫️ The views of the Wharf, the Washington Monument, and the channel at golden hour are unreal

It runs 90 minutes and the boat turns heads the whole time (people literally waved at us from shore). I’m already trying to plan when we go back with another couple.
