The pantries and fridge at Estelita's will be entirely closed on Friday. We hope to have them back up and running Saturday morning, but because we are doing concrete work we are somewhat at the mercy of the weather. Thanks for your patience! by @seattlecommunityfridge

Happy mural anniversary to @seattlecommunityfridge ! This fridge & pantry is located in Capitol Hill at 19th & Aloha (@stjosephparishseattle ) right next to a bus stop and @macrinabakery . Last year neighbors came out for our Pantry Party to add their own flair to the sides and provide that week's restock!

My huckleberry & salmonberry design reflects the integral way that this site provides sustenance for its locals, the way that native foods do too

In a time when food insecurity has only grown, peer to peer support like this mutual aid makes such a difference. I've met so many kind folks who rely on it, as well as a sweet nanny who had kiddos practice Spanish picking out a snack after school. I've picked up a sandwich or fruit several times myself this year when a different public art client made my final payment 2 months late (it was a city gov) 🥲

Special thanks to the crews at SCF & St Joe's for welcoming me on this wonderful project!

Definitely reach out if you're a community org or small biz making our neighborhoods feel a little more connected, and thinking about a mural! I would love to propose something within your budget, and will always consider bartering for partial credit if you need it and I'm financially able to in that moment taken in St. Joseph Parish, Seattle by @seattlecommunityfridge

When retired nurse Reid Branson worked at Harborview Medical Center in Seattle, he said there was one issue he witnessed the most in his patients: hunger. As he began to plan for retirement, he knew he wanted to help feed his neighbors.
