I messed up the animation at the end, but I left that in because I like not putting words in logical order to grab ppl's attention.

//More simple animation work, just trying to figure out timing, learning more after effects, plus exploring more ideas for possible merchandise/brand expansions! by @sebmadriz

short essay: You don't have to work as a designer to be a designer.

Days go by and my jealosy grows. I work at a print shop where I am a designer, but I'm not the designer. I am so close yet so far as I know what I was hired to do, and its not that thing that I've dedicated my life to. And yet I love my job. I love my work. I love the proximity to my own passion. All it does is light an even brighter fire under me to keep working. Because if not here then I will get what I've worked towards someday.

The longer I work at a print shop, although it hasn't been that long, my hyperfixation with little notches grows. The tiny lines and codes that are on paper. I understand more and more why they're there. They're not just for show or for texture, or even part of a "microdesign trend." They're there because they need to be. They need to show information about where to cut, where to place your paper, and sometimes information that you might need if you're handing off the materials to someone else.

So I steal them. They're as much a part of me now as they're a part of my work. They're now permanently part of my intrigue when it comes to invisible design, the stuff you're not really supposed to marvel at. its like when you highlight text in photoshop and it inverts the background. That’s the everyday stuff you practice noticing if you want to think more about design. Inverting the bcakground is a design choice as much as it is a ux choice. And i love it. I sweat the small stuff cause it all ads up to form a giant pile of great design.

If you're not a designer now, its not because you don't have a design job, its because you don't label yourself as a designer. I am a designer and no job title will ever take that away from me. And I feel more and more confident about that fact every day.

Post essay note: do you guys ever think about discarded paper? I do, a lot actually.

I think it was @oversettext who said to start writing my thoughts. I probably wont do it every time, but it was nice to expressmyself through word for once instead of visuals.

So, thank you ram for the push to write. by @sebmadriz
