Beauty in life is all around us when we have the eyes to see.

It’s truly a miracle how a restored heart can look up at the same sunset and see an entirely different landscape.

I am so thankful for this new life, a depression that has been shattered, and eyes to see the beauty I once overlooked.

Everyone I spoke with this evening said the same thing: ‘I had no idea there was such wholesome goodness with family and community available right here locally.’

That was the basic premise of the message I heard all night.

There is a very special ministry in town that I’d love for you to experience: @navarrofarm

Practically speaking, it assists many special needs persons in the area by teaching life skills via community and responsibility.

Spiritually speaking, this place is just blessed! (And I pray it continues to be that way, in Jesus name!)

Navarro Farms glorifies God in much of what it does— both actions and speech. I’m very thankful for this local ministry I once knew nothing about. 😊

More often then we realize, kids can remind adults lessons they lost along the way.

Watching my niece, Emma, work diligently at theater for years on end has reminded me perseverance pays off. Her humility with talents that glow is something that makes me tear up with healthy pride.

Emma, I’m beyond proud of you.

Happy birthday to you, Em, as well as your brothers Matt and Adam today.

Your parents should be so proud of the young adults you are all becoming.

Being a Christian used to sound awful. I looked at it through the legalism lens.

“Look at all the things I have to give up!” That was my sin still clinging onto me.

It wasn’t until I received that new heart (Eze 36:26) that I was able to even consider the things I might gain.

“You mean I get to be kind without worrying about looking cool?”

“You mean I’ll be able to pull away from addictions that never filled me?”

“You mean I get to be the man I was always called to be?”

“You mean I get to stay in a posture of love while the world hates everything in their day?”

“You mean I can have nothing (by comparison) but have everything in gratitude?”

God gives you a new heart, y’all. I didn’t think it was real, either. I used to think the joy a true Christian exhibited was a symptom of the brainwashed cult they were in.

I was the one brainwashed. I was taught lies that I started to believe.

“Make fun of people. If two laugh while one is hurt, that’s a good trade.”

That’s just one example, but I have hundreds.

This week I started a new career at Perma-Seal. I’m so excited to put together all the skills I was gifted in this life for a humble job of helping others.

I used to have grandeur expectations of what work should be. I wanted to be a doctor, or lawyer, or any position that came with notoriety or esteem. I wanted to be paid ridiculously beyond what I was worth, and I was impatient with that entitlement. It wasn’t until my mind was renewed by my faith that I realized you don’t need lofty titles to do wonderful things in this world.

You just need to show up to work each day and bring integrity, honesty, and work ethic; that’s it. If you have a mindset to improve in those three categories over a lifetime, you will rest your head each night with peace and healthy pride.

I’m so thankful to God for this new chapter in my life, and I hope to be a wonderful long-term asset at this great company. 😊 by @sebs3322

I got the clarity I was seeking. 😀 So thankful for the brief recharge.

There is so much peace in letting go of the truth that we are not in control of our lives.

We think we are; we fight it tooth and nail, but letting go to the One who is actually in control is the only way to “peace beyond understanding.”

I can’t begin to tell you how proud of this young man I am. My good friend, Owen Perez, was obedient to the teachings and got immerse baptized today.

It is beyond encouraging to see the transformations you have made in the nine months I’ve come to know you.

From a young man merely asking questions about Jesus, to a man that yearns for righteousness, goodness, and wants to spread it to others.

Watching your growth has been a blessing to me. I often am jaded by my own story. In pride, I forget that the same God that changed my life is working on countless others, and He is after the hearts of every person on this planet.

To watch Jesus change your life; to see your face illuminate with the same truthful verses that transformed me; to see a heart want to serve others with humility; you’ve been a blessing to my faith merely by watching your growth unfold.

Keep being a light unto others. “In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.”
‭‭Matthew‬ ‭5‬:‭16‬ ‭ESV‬‬

God is going to use you in mighty ways, young man. Stay humble with this truth. Surround yourself with elders that can guide you. Admit your mistakes, and keep your eyes on Jesus in all that you do.

Lord, I pray a blessing over Owen. Give him wisdom each day. Protect him from sin that so easily entangles. Give him the full armor of God, and send Owen countless mentors to grow in his walk.
