At the beginning of the school year my daughter and I were talking about grades. Knowing her drive and desire for perfection, I looked at her and said, “I would love for you to get a B this year.” She was shocked! But so grateful. She puts so much pressure on herself for perfection, that to hear that my goal for her was to relax and let go of that expectation was freeing.

It made me start thinking about some other ways that maybe @jakefinch10 and I do things differently. Grateful to still be learning ourselves, and humbly trying to pass on a legacy of resilience and grit. by @sebstuff

Happy birthday to our newest shotgun rider! Jordan you asked for socks for your birthday which just goes to show how grateful you are, which is why you’re fun to try to spoil. What a privilege of God’s grace to celebrate being free. Thankful for my husband @jakefinch10 who loves me 14 years in. Thankful for my children who are growing into the friends I never knew I needed. Thankful for my parents and in-laws, brothers and sisters, who make having family a joy. Thankful for new friends and old friends who I hold dear side by side. Thankful for this land of the free and home of the brave. by @sebstuff

Happy birthday to the young lady who made us parents, who we are figuring it all out with, and who we love so deeply.

She could do choose a million different paths and her effort and outlook would look the same on each of them. We’re just along for the ride, and it’s such a good one. by @sebstuff

It’s so moving when you get to be in the presence of someone humbly using their gifts. Ben Rector picked up different instruments, played with his craft, connected with his audience, and honored those on stage with him.

It reminded me to believe in my children when they want to follow their dreams, to encourage a friend taking a risk, and to keep an eye out for people who humbly pursue greatness. Being in the presence of someone who is “doing their thing,” who is using their unique gifts, who is glorifying their Maker with their efforts - there’s nothing like it. by @sebstuff
