On Saturday we played the home leg of our society vs society match against the @kaegs_21 golf society hosted superbly by the @theherongolfclub

We battled it out in a pairs format playing 3 matches across the 18 holes, giving each pair an opportunity to earn the team 3 points. It started off sour as we took an early 4 point deficit after 3 groups were in the clubhouse. This swiftly changed as more groups came in, which ended up with the final result being 29 points to the SEC and 13 to the KAEGS! 🙌🏼

Overall, was cracking day out which we have the @kaegs_21 and the @theherongolfclub to thank for. We’d also like to give a special thank you to @johnfryattpga who greeted us on arrival and hosted the presentation for us which was a lovely touch. Your hospitality is much appreciated and you’re welcome to have a knock with us anytime!🏌🏽

SEC Championship round number 4 saw 28 of us head to Burstead Golf Club. Another new track for us to tick off the list ✔️

📍 Nearest the Pin – Hole 4
A short par 3 with a large bunker guarding the front of the green made this a tricky one. @dan.b.smith.98 set the benchmark early on, but was eventually beaten by an absolute worldy from @cbentley57 ! 🤩👏🏼

💪 Longest Drive – Hole 18
A challenging par 5 with a narrow fairway and trees either side. @james_ward_17 was first to put his name down, before being beaten by @daannmann … and then @calummacintyre came along with an absolute cracker to take the win! 💪🏼🔥

🏆 Overall Winner
A huge congratulations to @alexkennedy94_ , who took the win with an impressive 38 points playing off 15 handicap. Cut incoming! 👏🏼 Great round, fella! 🏆

Our best event of the year is back!

Tomorrow we welcome 52 players to @therayleighclub for our annual charity golf day.

This year, we’re raising money for the British Heart Foundation, in memory of Paul Cottee, an uncle and brother to members of our society. ❤️

Tomorrow will be our 5th event, and we’re incredibly proud to be on course to have raised over £11,000 for charities since we started in 2022.

🏌️‍♂️ Nearest to the pin on all 18 holes
🏆 Overall winners
🎁 Plenty of other prizes up for grabs

And of course, @hannah_kennedy_ & @daisylaver will be keeping us fuelled up all day from the beer buggy! 🍻

A massive thank you to @therayleighclub for hosting us, and all of our sponsors too. Without their support we wouldn’t be able to put the day on. ❤️

Roll on tomorrow, it’s going to be another cracker! ⛳️🍻 taken in The Rayleigh Club by @sec_society

We hit the 1/4 mark of our 26/27 season as we travelled to Westerham GC for our 3rd championship event. Even with the weather scheduled to torrential rain, we had 28 players make the trip to play this fine track.🏌🏾

Firstly, we kicked off with our longest drive contest on hole 3. 💣 A long par 5, up hill hitting straight into a breeze. Congratulations to @scottylawson for flushing a great drive straight down the middle.

Secondly, onto our nearest to pin contest.📍 Congratulations to @liamyarwood for nicking it ahead of @matthewriley1994 on hole 13. A dart of a tee shot which was well deserved. ⛳️

Finally, onto our overall winner. It was a showdown between two players on the back 9 as the rest of the field struggled in the pouring rain and tough conditions. It left @baileybrunning and @dan.b.smith.98 who were both having unbelievable rounds. Congratulations to @dan.b.smith.98 who secured it with a -1 back 9 and finishing on an astonishing 47 points. A round to remember 👏🏼

We returned back to Essex to play our 2nd Championship match of the season at Ballards Gore GC. The event fell on first heat wave of the year with temps in the mid 30’s making it a test for all 37 players out in the field. ☀️

No time to warm up with our nearest to pin contest being hosted on the opening par 3. ⛳️ Only 7 pars across the board proving a difficult start. Congratulations to Joe Easteal for being nearest to the pin winning a box of Pro V’s as his prize 👏🏼

Onto the longest drive contest hosted on hole 17. A par 5 with an awkward tree in the middle of the fairway making it a tricky obstacle to get past. Some big tee shots on this one but none came close to @_coxjamie . Congratulations mate and a well earned box of Pro V1’s. 💣

Finally onto the overall winner of the day. 🏆 It was down to @lukeehadlow & @dsteerwood who peeled away from the rest of the field leaving it a two horse race. A fantastic 6 par train in the mid section saw @lukeehadlow rack up some serious points clinching the win on 42 points. Well done fella 👏🏼

We kicked off our season at Surrey National Golf Club. A tricky course with sloping fairways but a superb clubhouse overlooking the 18th hole. We had 28 players make the trip south of the water.
🌉

Our first contest of the day was our longest drive hosted on hole 5. A par 5 with a snaking fairway and a blind tee shot made it a tricky choice on which line to take. Congratulations to @liamyarwood for smashing it the furthest claiming a box of Pro V’s as his prize. 💣

Next up we had our par 3 competition hosted on hole 13, the only par 3 on the back nine. ⛳️ It had an elevated tee box and 2 tier green making it tough to get the club choice right. Congratulations to @arthur_laver who calculated it perfectly knocking it close. He took home a box of Pro V’s for his effort. 👏🏼

Finally, onto our overall winner. Congratulations to @liamyarwood for shooting a round to remember on his return following a long stint out injured. A scorecard filled with pars, no doubles and nice eagle finished him up with a level par round for the day. A deserving winner of the 26/27 season opener. 🏆

Our 2025/26 season finale was hosted at The Heron Country Club. With 34 players in attendance and loads to play for across our season leagues, we were in for an exciting round round of golf 🏌🏾

Firstly, we start with our longest drive competition. 💣 Hosted on Hole 9, a long par 5
with a hill a 3rd of the way down to give the big hitters and extra boost. Congratulations to @arthur_laver who took full advantage with a cracking driving which ended up 300+ yards down there. 👏🏼

Secondly, we move onto our nearest to pin competition hosted on hole 17. ⛳️ A downhill par 3 with a tricky pin location made it hard to attack. Congratulations to @lb_harrop for getting it the closest beating the other 33 players in the field 👏🏼

Finally, onto our winner of the day🥇 It was tight up the top with 5 players in contention all on for some great individual rounds. Down the final stretch, @reecebakewell & @_coxjamie broke away with a 3 shot lead and finished on a tie with a big 41 points. Congratulations to @_coxjamie for nicking it on countback helped by an eagle 🦅 on the 10th. 👏🏼

Last month we headed over to the edge of the M11 to Epping golf club to play our 11th Championship round of the season. Heading into the business end of the season with loads still to play for, we had 22 players make the trip.

Starting off with our longest drive competition hosted on on hole 9. 💣 A long downhill par 4 with a nice open fairway gave the lads an opportunity to be aggressive with the tee shots. @millarbentley set the bar high with an impressive drive but was eventually beaten by Jake McGrath with a cracker. He took home a @jlindebergofficial Wooly hat as his prize. Well done Jake 💪🏼

Onto hole 17 for our nearest to pin contest. ⛳️ A 140 yard challenging par 3 which had a green sheltered by trees and bunkers. @lewisjbunn was first to get his name down with a decent effort, until @dan.b.smith.98 got inside with a lovely tee shot. He walks away with a @jlindebergofficial umbrella for his prize. 🌂 Well done mate!

Onto our overall winner of the day 🏆 It was a tight leaderboard all day, fine margins meant a few pars could send you from the bottom 3 to the top 3! Eventually it went down to the wire between @benjaminsmith93_is_back & @alexkennedy94_ , but a par on the 18th was enough to see Ken over the line finishing on 38 points. Ben finished closely behind with 37 points after an unbelievable back 9, going level par. Congrats to @alexkennedy94_ for his 2nd SEC win, earning himself a @trendygolf voucher for his prize. 🏆

Our first outing of 2026 we returned to Cranham golf club. Probably the only course in Essex you’ll get a few extra yards of rollout in January. As expected, the course was in great condition and didn’t disappoint. We had 32 players out in the field for this one! 🏌🏽

Our first contest on the course was our longest drive competition. 💣 Hosted on hole 15, a snaking fairway approximately 240-280 yards down meant there was a bit of luck involved with this one. Congratulations to @harryfix for hitting a bomb and winning the longest drive for the day. He took home a box of Pro V’s as his prize.

Onto our nearest to pin ⛳️ It had to be hosted on the Island Green 18th hole. After completing some recent work they’ve removed the bridge and relocated round the back of the green, making it look even more daunting from the tee box. Congratulations to @liamyarwood who had no trouble hitting it close. Back from injury and straight back to winning ways. He claimed his box of Pro V’s as his prize 👏🏼

Finally onto our winner! 🏆 It was tight from start to finish with 4 players breaking the 40 point mark. Clinching the win with a net 1 over back 9 @matthewriley1994 takes the crown. Making it his second SEC win over at Cranham GC, a clear favourite for him ⭐️ He walks away with a @trendygolf voucher as his prize.

We closed the year off with our Christmas knock over at @colchgolfclub. A big thanks to the staff and team for making us so welcome on the day. The course was in fantastic nick considering the time of year and a lot of the lads are keen on making a return. We had 21 players out in attendance for this one. 🎄🎅🏼

Starting with our nearest to pin on hole 8.⛳️ A 130 yard par 3 surrounded by bunkers made it a tough challenge for those in the field. Congratulations to @dsteerwood sticking it closest 🎯 He takes away an @jlindebergofficial umbrella as his prize. 🌂

Over to the longest drive on hole 12. 💣 A long straight par 4 with trouble both sides of the fairway meant there wasn’t much room for error. There was a few contenders on the card but congratulations to Jake McGrath for clinching it at the end with a fantastic drive. He wins a @jlindebergofficial beanie for his prize.

Finally onto our winner for the day.🥇 It went down to the wire between 3 players all on fantastic scores. Congratulations to @_imrangram for closing of the round with a 40 foot birdie putt and stealing the win. 🏆 He walks away with a @trendygolf voucher for his efforts.
