It turned out to be more complicated than we’d imagined; the random colour patterns and small surface area made the assembly process—piece by piece a challenge in itself.

Kantha Noragi

Inspired by the traditional Japanese farmer’s garment, the “Noragi,” this piece bridges Japanese and Indian cultures.

Kantha quilts originate from India and are hand-stitched by female artisans. Often compared to Japanese boro, Kantha is more vibrant and carries its own distinct character. Each stitch is carefully done by hand, creating a seamless blend of fabric despite its distressed appearance.
