The road trip across California just hit a new high! We were thrilled to host a special in-person livestream with the OurWay Out podcast. The energy was electric, the conversation was raw, and the event was an absolute success.

— Mission Statement

Second Chance Kitchen exists to transform justice-impacted youth and adults into confident, employable, and empowered culinary professionals.
We bring fully structured 30-day, 60-day, 90-day, and 12-month culinary and hospitality training programs directly into juvenile homes, youth authority facilities, and prisons—meeting people where they are and giving them a real pathway forward.

Our mission is to equip every participant with industry-recognized certifications and hands-on skills needed to thrive in any kitchen: from prep cook and line cook to dishwasher, expediter, runner, busser, server, host, and even entry-level management. We focus on discipline, teamwork, creativity, and the belief that a second chance can become a new beginning.

For graduates ready to take the next step, we provide access to step-down transitional homes powered by Second Chance Kitchens—spaces where entrepreneurial learning meets real-world opportunity. Participants train in fully built teaching kitchens, design their own menus, learn food costing, and operate live Second Chance Pop-Ups throughout Los Angeles. These pop-ups give students the opportunity to sell their food, engage with the community, and build the foundation for their own future ventures.

Our ultimate goal is to help each person rewrite their story—whether that means earning stable employment, launching a pop-up, opening a food truck, or building their own restaurant.
