proud to have exhibited my textile art at the @silver.lining.textiles launch event ⭐️

Daisy Craig is a Liverpool based contemporary womenswear designer and textile artist - specialising in feminist design principles and historical fashion references.

Her textile work ‘The Organic’ focuses on utilising a variety of fabric manipulation techniques to recreate elements of the human body in a slightly surreal way, creating a commentary on cosmetic surgery as a method of body modification and how it creates a distorted version of the human form. Would we alter our interior in the same way as our exterior?

‘The Heart’ and ‘The Lungs’ utilises her own method of fabric manipulation inspired by paper twilling (an ancient art technique of creating images with small rolled up pieces of paper) - but with small rolls of different fabrics instead. Other methods in this installation include hand embroidery, wool couching, heat manipulation, knitting and crochet. by @secondangelstudio

happyem:)))) this time last year i had dropped out of university and was a mental health inpatient. today i got to watch my work on the runway ❤️

thank you to my beautiful models, and to my family for getting me through this course.
