Last night, I came home.
Ten years of journeys — Port-au-Prince, Paris, Normandy, Marseille, Mexico City and more— and then Brooklyn. The neighbourhood that made me. The people who watched me grow. Familiar faces full of love and new connections that felt like they were always meant to happen. I was overwhelmed. Grateful. Full.

Watching people move through the works — standing in front of a canvas, going quiet, leaning in — reminded me why I do this. We all carry within us the capacity to connect, to learn, to share, to grow. Every culture we touch leaves something behind. That is what this work is made of.

This homecoming has been a long time coming, and it would not have happened without the people who believed in the vision before the world could see it.

To my friend Vlad — thank you for coming to us with the idea and setting this whole thing in motion. To Shauna Haynes, CEO of Beyond Vue and Head Curator — you brought this exhibition to life with such precision, care, and brilliance. And to my love who also happens to be Shauna’s business partner Winy — you worked tirelessly, seamlessly, and with everything you had. I am surrounded by the best, and I do not take that lightly. Teamwork made this dream work.

Thank you, Brooklyn. Thank you to everyone who came through last night.

This is only the beginning.

Travelling Griot: A Homecoming is on until 16 May at Sanders Studio, 525 Waverly Avenue, Brooklyn. If you missed the opening, don’t worry — reach out to Shauna at shauna@beyondvueagency.com and she will arrange a private viewing for you.

The journey continues. 🖤 taken in Brooklyn, New York by @secondflr_

We had the pleasure of attending an incredible evening at Porcelanosa New York, hosted by Gerry Rothbart, Senior Architectural Sales Representative.

As a local New York architecture and design firm, it was an honor to be invited to connect with fellow professionals in the industry and experience Porcelanosa’s latest showroom offerings.

We had the opportunity to meet and share ideas with inspiring architects, designers, and industry leaders who continue to shape New York’s built environment. The event celebrated innovation, design excellence, and the strong community that drives our profession forward.

A special thank you to Gerry for the warm invitation and to Porcelanosa USA for bringing together such a dynamic group of people.

We look forward to building on these connections and continuing the dialogue on how thoughtful design and quality materials can transform the way we design.

We are thrilled to announce our collaboration with Second Floor Studio, Vladimir Charles, on an ambitious architectural, urban, and commercial project at the LeFrak Center at Lakeside, located by the iconic Prospect Park Alliance, Ice Rink in Brooklyn.

Our involvement goes beyond architecture and design—we have been hands-on from the very beginning, conducting site visits, meeting with governmental institutions, and coordinating with investors and developers. Our mission is to reimagine and revitalize the restaurant and outdoor spaces surrounding the ice rink, breathing new life into this prime location.

Originally designed and operated by Chase Bank, the space was defined by corporate simplicity, lacking the vibrancy such a central community hub deserves. Our goal is to transform it into a lively, welcoming environment that serves Brooklyn and its visitors all year round—whether it’s winter skating or summer gatherings.

Stay tuned! taken in Lefrak Center At Lakeside Prospect Park by @secondflr_
