I’m Lucy, the face behind Second Nature acupuncture.
I am a student acupuncturist currently in my last year of study and clinical training.

I treat holistically using a combination of body, face and ear needles rooted in Traditional Chinese Medicine theory. I created this page as a space to share, connect and learn.

Welcome, I hope you enjoy my journey 🌀🍵🌼🤍 by @secondnatureacupuncture

Pear, goji berry, and cinnamon tea 🍵 three simple ingredients rooted in Chinese medicine that I reach for when I need a little extra nourishment from the inside out.

Save this for the next time your throat or skin needs some love.

Gua sha isn’t just a trend, it’s an ancient technique for moving stagnation and boosting circulation.

My everyday combo includes: Activist green botanical serum (hands down my favourite!!) to glide, gua sha to work it in, and the Sans Superdose Sleep Infusion Mask to lock it all in. I actually use the mask as my everyday moisturiser during the winter seasons as it’s so restoring for dryer skin. taken in Auckland, New Zealand by @secondnatureacupuncture

Winter is Yin season 🌙

In Chinese medicine, winter is the season to slow down, turn inward, and replenish just like nature does. This is the time to nourish your yin - the cooling, quiet, restorative energy in all of us.

A few ways I like to support my yin this time of year

🍵 Herbal teas - warming, hydrating, grounding
🧘‍♀️ Yin yoga - long holds, deep release
🔥 Infrared Saunas - heat that relaxes without depleting
📍 Acupuncture - restoring balance from the inside out
😴 More sleep - yin is literally built at night
🌅 Slower mornings - less rushing, more ease
🕯️ Moxibustion - gentle heat to warm and nourish from within

TCM brew of the day 🫖

Pear, ginger, cinnamon, goji berries & red dates

In TCM, pear helps nourish fluids and moisten the Lungs, while ginger + cinnamon add warmth and support digestion. Goji berries and red dates are traditionally used to nourish Qi, Blood & Yin 🍵

A simple, nourishing blend for a cosy rainy day 🤎
