Best lume shot ever? Timex Expedition Scout featuring Snoopy and Woodstock camping under the stars.

I have a soft spot for budget watches, the kind you can take camping and not worry about, and this is the perfect example!

Birth year AND birth month watch? Not as hard to find as you might think, snagged this Aug 1983 JDM Seiko diver from eBay. I replaced the scratched up crystal but left everything else in its weathered glory. This is a true diver with 150M WR and screw down crown. Prestine dial for a 40 yr old watch.

Pictured: Seiko 6458-6000, 38mm case with black bezel, Seiko quartz movement, on 19mm blue leather strap. Seiko recently put out a bunch of refreshed versions of this watch, in the same colours as the original vintage line, in cream, cyan, black, and orange.

Status in collection: Keeping in collection, this was my 40th bday present to myself.

Tried my hand at a custom dial, used silver leaf, coloured pigment, and acrylic clear coat. Inspired by the Citizen NB1060. Turned out pretty good I think!

Pictured: SRPE "dressKX" with swapped kanji day date wheel, and of course my new dial.

Status in collection: Keeping in collection

Snoopy with a good leaf seconds hand! See the video for it in action.

This is a 40mm Timex Standard, modified with a brushed finish instead of the shiny polish, and of course, the gold seconds hand/leaf. Not only does it look cool but it also cuts down the noise significantly, something I do with a lot of my loud Timexes (looking at you, Weekender)...

More than a birth year watch! Get this: birth year, birth month, AND the factory code are the same two letters as my initials. One in a million find, and the two tone gilt look is grandpa-chic

Any watch can be special; cheap drug store watch with custom dial featuring my kid's favourite stuffie. Because why not?

Best ink of all time? Kon Peki would be my go to. Well behaved, saturated, not too serious but not too weird. Pairs very well with the Pilot Custom Heritage 92, pictured here

Since the other wrist is messed up, is it blasphemy to wear a smart and analog watch on the same wrist??

The Platinum Century 3776, probably Platinum's most famous luxury pen; while the Preppy is awesome, this is one of the best gold nibbed pens at a decent price point. Well, it used to be anyway, these used to be $100 used, but now they are $300!!

On the wrist today; humble pie and a reminder that if I like watches so much I should probably stop doing things that make it hard to wear watches. Like playing hockey... the body isn't 20 anymore, sigh.

Snoopy Expedition with case swap, put everything in a gunmetal case instead of the black plastic. Thoughts?
