October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month, and I wanted to share a little bit about The Retreat and why it means so much to me.

My family moved to East Hampton in the ’70s. My mom, Judie, was involved with The Retreat from the beginning, and I watched her help women in our community who needed somewhere safe to turn.

I’m now a board member, and I’m very proud and honored to carry on her legacy and the work she cared so much about.

I’d love you guys to take a moment to learn more about The Retreat. Maybe there’s someone you know who is struggling and needs help.

The Retreat offers emergency shelter, counseling, legal advocacy, and a 24-hour hotline. Their services are free and confidential.

A little TED talk from the back of my closet.

I found this shirt with the price tag still on it. I’d bought it because it looked fabulous on the model, then tried it on and thought, Well, that was an expensive mistake. Untucked, it billowed. Tucked in, somehow worse.

And then, for once, Instagram served me exactly what I needed: this belt trick. I tried it, and suddenly the shirt I’d been avoiding has a whole new life.

The funniest part? I bought it in other colors, too. Apparently I’ve been keeping an entire collection of second chances in my closet. 🤍

Okay, you guys, @boden fall jackets are beyond! I had to show you the details. The little bow and pink piping on the short one? So cute. And the long coat has a map of London inside!

Goodbye, all-black New York uniform—today I’m bringing the ’70s back.

I slipped into my @JuliaAmory leopard pants, cinched them with a low-slung belt, and finished the look with my fringe @brahmin Brahmin bag for that perfect swishy, retro texture. The @FrancoSarto booties are still going strong, and I completely understand why you keep asking about them: they’re polished, comfortable, and easy to wear all day.

I walked into Le Tanneur in Paris, fell in love with the bags, and left without buying one. I’ve thought about that store ever since.

This is my second bag from them, but I’d never seen the Émilie medium in person before ordering it. So this is my real first reaction—and oh, I’m happy I chose it. The leather, the gold hardware, the little feet! It’s exactly what I wanted for daytime and dinner, with room for the things Mr. inevitably hands me on the way out. 🤍
