It’s essential to make sure you have an advanced health care directive in place in the event of unexpected change in your health or you become incapacitated. .

Eric and I recently attended the Menifee Valley Community Cupboard fundraiser, and we were so glad we did. We had a wonderful time, reconnected with old friends Elaine and Art, and felt grateful to support an organization making such a meaningful difference in local families’ lives. 😊

A night out for a cause close to home. 💛 One million meals. That’s what a community can accomplish when neighbors decide to show up for one another.

The Cupboard provides food to families throughout our community and partners with schools to send weekend food home with students. This past year, donors, schools, faith communities, volunteers, and neighbors helped provide more than one million meals.

I often tell the young people I mentor, “It takes a village.” In Menifee, that village is made up of people who care, lend a hand, and make sure no neighbor has to face hunger alone. 💗

Want to help strengthen our community? Learn more, donate, volunteer, or find other ways to get involved at mvcupboard.org.

The Menifee Valley Community Cupboard does an excellent job supporting local families and students with food.

Bonus, we brought home two silent auction baskets. 🎁

Hump Day reminder: life is about balance. 🌱☀️

No matter what someone’s life looks like from the outside, everyone is carrying something.

Work. Family. Finances. Health. Responsibilities. Life.

Sometimes we get so busy getting through the day that we forget to actually enjoy it.

I think sometimes we get so busy running around and taking care of everything that we forget to just stop for a minute. 😮‍💨

For me, gardening is one of the ways I reset. 👩🏾‍🌾 I recently read about research showing that people who garden regularly tend to live longer and healthier lives. Honestly, I can see why. You’re outside, you’re moving, getting fresh air and sunshine, and doing something that makes you slow down and enjoy the moment. 🪴

Try to give yourself at least 10–30 minutes a day to do something just for you:

👉🏾Take a walk
👉🏾Go for a run or hit the gym
👉🏾Read a book
👉🏾Take a bubble bath
👉🏾Get outside, garden, or just sit and enjoy the scenery

It doesn’t have to be anything big.
We spend so much time securing our financial assets, but some of our most important assets are our health, our well-being, and our peace of mind. 🥰

Take a few minutes. Breathe. Reset. 🙏🏾

We plan vacations. We plan for retirement. But very few of us plan to become caregivers.

Most of the time, it happens unexpectedly.

My dad has been in the hospital for four weeks now, my mom had a stroke in May. Both experiences reminded me how quickly life can change, and how suddenly you can find yourself talking with doctors, making difficult decisions, and trying to figure out what comes next.

That’s why it’s so important to know your parents’ medical history, medications, wishes, and where they keep their important documents. Having those conversations before a crisis can make an overwhelming moment a little easier to navigate.

A few practical steps families can take now:

👉🏾 Create a current list of medical conditions, medications, doctors, and emergency contacts.
👉🏾 Discuss healthcare wishes and identify who should make decisions if someone cannot. Make sure your loved one has an Advance Health Care Directive.
👉🏾 Share key information with trusted family members and keep it updated. Group message or private social media group to keep updated on loved one’s medical status.
👉🏾 Talk about transportation, home support, finances, and other likely caregiving needs.

And through it all, remember: you matter too.

You can love someone deeply and still rest, go home, ask for help, and care for yourself. Taking care of your own needs doesn’t mean you’re doing any less for them. It helps you keep showing up with strength and compassion.

Planning ahead is an act of love for them and for you. ❤️

Secure your family. Secure your health. Secure your peace of mind!

I’ve waited three weeks for my LSAT (Law School Admissions Test) score. I did it!! 🥳Now, I can move on to the next phase of my life. I’m so excited; It’s been a journey of self-discovery, and I’ve grown so much in the last year. As my shirt says, “ I never lose. I either win, or I learn.” ~Nelson Mandela.

I want to thank all the people who have supported me on this path and encouraged me continuously because you believed in me, so thank you so much!! 🙏🏾 💗

Eric and I had a wonderful time at the Loma Linda Annual Holiday Party. Our table almost won the scavenger hunt. I loaded my purse full of stuff, determined to win. We had all fifteen items, but they wouldn't give us credit for a Rancho medical badge. It had to be a Loma Linda badge. Dang, it! Lol 😂 However, Eric did win $300 playing the slot machines. by @secure.your.assets
